Ricky Hatton RIP

I see Tyson Fury has turned up in a specially made suit consisting of pictures of himself. What a total cock and how disrespectful.
An therein lies our problem as human beings. Not Tyson, but all those insulting him.

Ricky had mental health issues which, allegedly, resulted in his untimely demise.

Tyson has mental heath issues, which on a number of occasions have almost resulted in his timely demise.

He's either worn the suit as last bit of banter with his old friend, or to make a statement that he has been saved and is still with us.

Whatever the reason, we all know Tyson has struggled over the years and has made some bad decisions, like Ricky did, we should try and understand and support, not add to their struggles.

We've already lost one legend way too early, let's not lose another.

No need. They were friends, Fury likes to consider himself as a bit of a joker. The vast majority of comments about Hatton after his passing focused on his sense of humour and how he never took anything seriously himself. That's almost certainly an inside joke/tribute between two mates. I don't even know how somebody gets the idea into their head that Fury would disrespect a friend and somebody he looked up to professionally at their funeral.

The biggest compliment I can pay Ricky Hatton and which may be his most abiding legacy is that he made us all feel like we were on the same team. Regardless of your team, your race, your sexuality or any other barrier which can divide people, Ricky Hatton made us all feel like we were in it in together. I don't think a single other Mancunian will ever come close to uniting the City in the way he did.

I understand your point to some extent. But today was not about Tyson it was about Ricky. Today was not a Remembrance Service and a celebration of Ricky's life which hopefully will come later. As I see it that's when wearing the suit would have been appropriate and not a distraction
It was day of high emotion for Rick'ys family and they needed to be the centre of everyone attention and care
I'm not quite sure what you mean about Tyson being saved and still with us. At the moment how could we forget with his announcements about his 16 year daughter getting engaged or his ongoing talk about retirement. He seems to enjoy the limelight which never could be said of Ricky. But maybe that's part of Tyson's demons
Yes we are all different but on occasions we need to remember life is not just about us but those around us

Doesn’t Fury have friends who can advise him on how to behave in any given situation?

There’s a back story to that suit that explains it. Do a bit of research.
The awards ceremony? Hmm. I still don't think it was the time or the place to wear it. But I'm not going to derail the thread by arguing the toss about it. Like the suit, it's not the time, nor the place. Sleep well Ricky.

What a great turn out from Manchester ! Did him proud and his family looked like they appreciated everyone who turned up along the route ….. was at the dove release in Hattersley and then outside the etihad …. Blues everywhere and along the route too !

There truly is only one Ricky Hatton - loved more than he knew .
