Despite some posters best attempts this has got fuck all to do with race or politics.

Of course it's got something to do with politics. It's not just coincidence that riots tend to happen in times of recession and begin in the poorer parts of whatever City they're in. Tottenham, Toxeth, Moss Side...etc.

Re: Riot in Tottenham (continued)

It's clearly more than mindless thieving...it's a lot more sinister.

Shootings, businesses/houses on fire....

What started off as a protest has descended into absolutely madness and it doesn't look like it's going to calm down, more like getting worse and spreading across the country, albeit a smaller scale.

We are responsible as part of the 'big society'.

I idea of a big society has been around for a matter of months, nowhere near long enough to 'breed' something like this.

Big society or no big society, as a UK citizen and a member of society I readily accept that I'm partly responsible.

It's easy to blame others but unless we're out there actively trying to make the country a better place, we're all partly responsible.

I reckon they are all pissed off because their share portfolios have crashed...
The world is in deep shit and it isn't going to get better anytime soon.
That mayan 2012 prediction might not be wrong!
