Well I suspect partly that he is surrounded by people telling him he is doing a bang up job so he believes he is. Looking at his actions I assume all his team are know nowt muppets who rely on mates in Tufton Street to tell them what to do.
 
Chasing votes is not leadership. Turning your back on international agreements to court your base is not leadership. Misleading the electorate by promoting a tiny portion of a new policy is not leadership. Refusing to answer questions is not leadership. Signing deals that hugely benefit your family business is not leadership. The man is a charlatan in Prada shoes. A dick.

He just doesn't get it does he? He is the numbers guy - problem with servicing debt? Just extend a line of credit. When another income comes on stream or one of your other investments pays a dividend then simply use that to offset the increase in the original debt and adjust the spreadsheet accordingly - its all abstract and not real world to someone as rich as he is

He sort of let the cat out of the bag with regard to his thinking, yesterday. During an interview he scornfully stated that homeowners had received huge benefit in house price rises and that they had huge amounts of capital in their property. This meant to me that he sees there is a huge amount of capital to tap into and they want a piece of your hard earned savings.

Just another way to tax the working people of this country.
