If he could actually run past a defender I would be happy.
Spot on and I wonder (though many will not admit it) would he be getting the same flak had he slotted that Pen against the dippers
I agree with how it unfolded in terms of how Mahrez came to take it but for me there is no blame. Pep said afterwards that Mahrez had been spot on in practising pens all week - comes down to shit happens. Anyone could have taken it and missed, including our bigger starsWorse enough posters think he took the penalty off of Jesus
....when in fact, Jesus was originally supposed to take it, then the message came from the touch line via Mendy that Riyad will take it. Mahrez even pointed to Jesus as to say he is already taking it where Mendy insisted that he needs to. Imo whoever decided Mahrez should take it is to blame. Jesus was clearly looking forward to taking it and was disappointed not to where as Mahrez didn’t want to take it but had to. Shocking decision.

Id like Eddy to have taken it with his left peg as, even if the keeper got his hand to it, it would have ripped it off at the wrist :)I think it does have an effect because even though he was taking them well in training, it’s irrelevant because it’s late in the game 0-0 away, the pressure is on. Mahrez is not even thinking about taking the penalty then all of sudden the message comes and he has to prepare himself mentally in a few seconds and then take it almost immediately. It would of been completely different had Pep said at half time if Aguero comes off Mahrez you take it. Because as soon as the whistle blows the penalty taker starts contemplating the penalty, relaxing himself, etc. Where as when the decision comes in last second there is some confusion/doubt.
I know this may seem minute by I really feel it does have an effect. I know Gabby could have missed but he was more prepared mentally to take it than Mahrez, that I’m sure of. But if you disagree, ok.

All water under the bridge now - we move on
How the fuck is a 27 year old nearly 29?Where have you seen that he clearly has quality? It isn't obvious to many on here, he has a great left foot but is reluctant to use his right foot. I just hope that Pep can improve him like he does many players. The possible problem is that he is nearly 29 and no spring chicken. We paid such a lot of money for this guy for me he should be a game changer like Aguero, Sane, KDB, Sterling, Silva but he isn't.

No need for the abuse. I genuinely thought he was 28 and then 29 in Feb. Still I believe my point is valid. He is an experienced pL footballer who isn't at the start of his career. Old dog new tricks and all that.
