Riyad Mahrez - 2018/2019 performances

Yes, he needs time to assimilate Pep’s methodology, as did Bernie, Leroy etc. Difference with Mahrez is that he had a big head start on those lads because he’d had 4 years of English football already under his belt, and yet he’s barely any different to when he set foot through the door. Looks mentally and physically weak to me. If he stays, he stays, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he left either
4 yrs of hoofball,he is a beginner in a pep's system,i agree that he needs to be stronger to measure up to the others

No-one gets dropped, pep has said he will rotate as we need everyone
We won't be seling our record signing after 1 season with 5yrs left on his deal,he is allowed time to adjust, glad you are not in charge

Read the post again @karen7 , it was a question not a quote. If you think that Pep would keep a player just because he signed him 12 months ago you are very much mistaken. Pep does what is best for the team, not the supporter. For the record, I want Riyad to be a success but I'm not the manager and neither are you. Pep will decide and guess what, I trust his decision.

Also a factor what Mahrez wants. To be an understudy for Sterling and Bernardo and Sane next season as well?

PL minutes after 31 rounds:
Bernardo: 2378 minutes, 26 starts + 4 times off the bench
Mahrez: 1159m, 12+13
Sterling: 2237m, 25+3
Sane: 1529m, 18+7

Mahrez started only 2 league games for City in 2019 out of 11.

This crazy quadruple chasing is not only an impossible task but also the only option to keep the players not going completely crazy about game time. Imagine if we are out very early in first round of Carabao and Fa Cup both.

Suspect Mahrez will get a start against Cardiff , we are overdue a show of brilliance from the fella , would be nice for him to score a couple and get MofM , but at the moment i would rather see Foden in the first eleven , he would revel against a team like Cardiff , he's a tough cookie who isnt afraid of a tackle

Foden would get battered by them if they decide to boot him,he is not big enough to shake them off

Not sure they would catch him and he certainly doesnt shirk tackles , Merlin's a great example he's been shaking them off for a decade , if Foden can show the same fearlessness (not sure if that's a word :) we have got some player on our hands.

Foden's played 25 minutes vs Cardiff already this season, plus Rotherham, Oxford, Newport, Burnley & Burton.

He's not going to get battered by anyone and has played most of his football against cloggers.

Much better. Couple of poor moments on the counter but forced the keeper into some good saves and his crossing was good. Should have had a pen too. I really like him and Kevin on the right, swapping positions. With walker on the overlap too it's really dangerous
