Riyad Mahrez

Liverpool definitely have an inferiority complex, they were offended by suggestions they might take Joe Hart and or Clichy. They would never have touched Willy because if these players are not good enough for City, why would they want them etc. However Chelsea had no issues signing Willy.

Liverpool put out a statement they were not interested in Mahrez.....I bet they will break the bank in the summer for Mahrez because we are in for him.

Which is why we should do now what I suggested on the last page. Take it or leave it to Leicester and the player. If Leicester think we will be part of any auction then we will have to pay what we just refused to pay now. And if we dont we will be perceived to have been beaten to him.

Do that and we might as well have paid it now and had Mahrez playing at Burnley.

If we get embroiled in a bidding war in the Summer it means we were silly not paying more now.

We must not do that. Leicester will be counting on us coming back and out bidding the likes of Liverpool. We have to make clear now that we will not.

I just can't understand why they were willing to spend 60million on Mahrez and not 35 on Sanchez.

It was not the transfer fee that was ever the issue. We would have gone higher if that was the problem and Sanchez was happy to come as per prior agreement.

We were simply not going to match Sanchez excessive wage demands after he agreed less with us but now wanted us to match United.

He moved the goal posts.

It would have shattered our wage structure and rewarded a player coming in double what say KDB is getting.

Quite rightly we would not do that. United will reap the reward of their desperation too on future salary deals.

We told him take the money we shook on and we will sort it with Arsenal. He followed the bigger salary. That's what happened. The £20 million fee was not what stopped him signing.

His ego and greed did.

With Mahrez he needs to now show he wants to come to City and persuade Leicester to take our offer on day 1 of the transfer window reopening. Otherwise we should not go back for him as we will be in a bidding war that we will not win because we will not attempt to win it.

Yes, we should leave our offer on the table and make sure the player knows. He is friends with Mendy.

Trust in pep we are not playing this kind of football and are this far clear by chance plus he's 26 instead of 29 and might of thought we need him more than we needed sancheS

if City sign him with 500k/week demand,
it will cause unrest among players.
imagine aging and declining Sanchez get more salary than on prime de Bruyne.
i'm glad City pulled out from this potential mess.

Apparently Leicester is going to fine him £200,000 for being AWOL.
Wonder how long he will stay absent..
