If reports are true that this delay is all bit money and his loyalty payment we should walk away. For me it raises serious questions about the character of the player. I say ‘if’ because nobody knows for sure.

City need to pay the money it will take to get him. Mahrez is no different from any other player or person who wants what they are owed, in this case contractually.

It's a rare thing to find a player willing to do what Fernandinho did - ie waive his loyalty bonuses to facilitate the move - In this case it's a balance for the player, at age 27, this will be his last major move and I would have thought, given the sums of money he would be able to earn over a five year contract, that alone would make his decision much easier. Additionally being coached by Pep for a minimum of three of those, with the chance to win major honours on a consistent basis you would hope that he would be desperate to come. As you say it's only a guess but if the delay is in fact due to him wanting a payoff I too have some concerns about his motives - after all he went on strike due to his dream move being scuppered in Jan. Great player, but the club have to weigh up the fact that at 31 will we be able to sell him on, there are plenty of other players who we can go for. I know we don't need to raise stacks of money on players at the end of contracts due to the system we are using with the academy, but I applaud the club for adopting a more robust policy rather than paying whatever another club/player wants. I would be happy either if he comes or doesn't we will be fine!

It will be his agent in his final pay day with this player that’s holding it up his agent want the big pay day.

If we can't agree a fee, would like to see us put a bid in for Lozano. Seems to have everything Pep wants in a winger, and shouldn't cost the earth. Plus, he's rapid, which Mahrez isn't.

His agent is doing his job its his last big pay day. and he will cream what he can for BOTH of them His desire to come to us was clearly evident in January Just because he wants whats due doesnt put his desire to join us in question

If the terms of his contract says he's entitled to a loyalty payment then it's fair enough him holding out for it. The dispute between the agent and Leicester is no doubt down to nuances in the terms of the contract and will be sorted by legal experts soon enough.

Agreed because presently it’s not a problem. It does need to be sorted by the date of pre season training because he needs to be here to start intergrating and understand how Pep and City work. He will be getting a bumper increase in salary to join us so screwing his old employers shouldn’t become a pre occupation.
