Manchester City have sacked Roberto Mancini and want to announce in the next few hours an agreement for the next three seasons with Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini. The signing operation is well advanced, but there are still fringed by close although the Chilean would have already OK at City despite having several offers on the table. Pellegrini already met in person with leaders and spoken English club next sport project, but out of respect to Malaga would be delaying the signing of the contract. His intention is to advertise especially when the Málaga is already qualified for Europe, but the pressing needs of the City could advance it all.

Pellegrini is a personal commitment of the City sporting director Txiki Begiristain that takes months specifying the entire operation. The City wanted to have linked to Pellegrini and Mancini had followed only in the case of winning the Premier League. All accelerated after the removal of the English team in the Champions League. Pellegrini apparently asked a few changes in the template but would like to specify three or four weight additions. One would be the Isco and also seek swift extremes to improve the game instead. Like Navas of Sevilla, but above all, Robben of Bayern Munich.

(So this sounds like the news regarding Robben isn't going away.)

For all his cons, you guys will not regret having him in your team. He's one of the most talented players I've ever seen in the flesh and I guarantee he'll win some very important games for you on his own. I'd still have him back at Chelsea.

Has looked very sharp when I've seen him lately.

Can be a bit of a smacked arse when things are not going his way, though.

Could the new Manager set up 4-2-3-1, with Kun up front with Robben, Silva and Navas/Isco as the three behind the striker? Plenty of goals in that attack!

Buying old dross from deutsche rags house-cleaning - not my idea of fresh new start post-Mancini. I hope we aim higher than this.

Robben dismisses link :

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/soccer/bayerns-robben-dismisses-manchester-city-speculation/article11907150/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/s ... e11907150/</a>

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben dismissed speculation that he would leave the German champions at the end of the season for Manchester City, saying he had no reason to move.

“I am not dealing with this speculation,” the Dutchman told reporters. “There is so much speculation but I only want to deal with football.

“I still have two years on my deal so why should I leave? It is all about performance on the pitch and in the past games I have shown I can contribute here at Bayern.”

Robben, who has been at Champions League finalists Bayern since 2009 after spells at Chelsea and Real Madrid, had an unhappy first part of the season but has won back his starting spot in recent months, helping his team to the brink of an unprecedented treble for a German club.

Reports have been mounting in England and Germany in the past days linking the 29-year-old with a possible move to Premier League side Manchester City.

“There has been so much speculation in the past month and I am only focused on Bayern,” said Robben, who lost the 2010 and 2012 Champions League finals with the Munich side. “We want to win the title on May 25 and that is the only thing that counts.”

Bayern, who have already won the Bundesliga this season, take on Borussia Dortmund in the all-German Champions League final in London before facing VfB Stuttgart in the German Cup final on June 1 in Berlin.

Robben, chasing his first major international title, was a 2010 World Cup runner-up with the Netherlands.

Manchester City sacked manager Roberto Mancini on Monday after the team failed to keep the Premier League title they won last year and lost the FA Cup final to Wigan Athletic.

That's not the attitude that'll bring us future success.
Robben got driven out at Madrid and Bayern took the chance to sign him on a cheap. A fee of 25 m Euros and he's on less than 100k per week.
And look what they got from him in return. Sure he's go his antics and won't ever stay free of injuries over the course of an entire season, but he lead them to a CL Final almost single-handedly with his clutch goals against Fiorentina and the Rags and contributed a whole lot of goals and assists during his 4 year spell there.

66 goals and 43 assists for Bayern within 8868 minutes played over the course of 4 years isn't too shabby for a winger I'd say.

I'd have him here in a heartbeat. Too bad the Neymar rumour seems to turn to shit as Bayern officals already denied any contact to neymar this morning. I had some hope left that Robben might decide to turn his back on Bayern if Neymar actually joined them. To be honest I rate him a lot higher than Neymar who's still unproven at the European level wheras Robben is proven PL material.

Agree.

Wouldn't be my personal choice, but if he stays relatively fit, we get him on the cheap and he performs anything like he did over the 2 legs v Barca then I think its a no brainer.

Plus the selfishness he possesses might just be a character trait we need in our squad. Someone who will grab a game and be the one to take shots rather than just pass it back into midfield.

I agree, if he continues to stay fit. When he was in your team you were an attractive team to occasionally watch on tv<br /><br />-- Tue May 14, 2013 1:58 pm --<br /><br />pretty sure I have read that Pep does not wish to retain him
