Robert Lewandowski

Exactly, they bought him to win the Champions League which they haven't.
And Dortmund bought Haaland in the hope they could challenge Bayern (or at least bridge the gap) and yet they can't even get top 4

Does that make Haaland a failure?

Football is a team sport, Ronaldo has done his part scoring a goal a game...he has been their best player and a huge commercial success

Lewandowski isn't Ronaldo/Messi, but he's fucking amazing....would love to have him move here

Juve bought him for for 100 million to win the Champions League as they won their league pretty much every year anyway.
He did his bit granted but they didn't win what they brought him in for.
I never mentioned Haaland so don't understand what he has to do with Ronaldo!

He’s scored about 100 goals in about 125 matches.

Juventus’s failings firstly lay in their monopoly type league and then their incompetent manager and average squad. Ronaldo’s pulled them out of the mire fistfuls of times.

His 95 goals is exactly what you would expect of him, but you said he had been “huge” for them. In his time there, they have won only Serie A twice and this year they might fail to qualify for the UCL. No domestic cup titles or UCL. I’m not saying it’s his fault, obviously, but when he retires there, no one will think of his time there for more than a few seconds.
The thing about him is that he’s the greatest athlete in football, no one can compare in terms of how well he takes care of his body and his physical longevity.

Pep isn’t the kind of guy that would want to receive 32yo’s for his team. He’ll use them if they’re there already, but he’d much prefer to take player he can mold, teach and help grow. It also isn’t the kind of signing the club would make. Messi being the exception on both counts

Yep makes perfect sense.
Let's let 32 year old sergio leave on a free and then splash 60m on 32 year old lewandowski.
Lewandowski isn't made of glass though

So we’re getting rid of a prolific 32 year old to get a prolific 32 year old in return for spending a bucket load of cash? Makes sense when you say it like that.
hmm

This season: Agüero 4 goals, Lewandowski 43

Last 3 seasons: Agüero 59 goals, Lewandowski 138

Last 5 seasons: Agüero 122 goals, Lewandowski 222

To suggest they are still on the same level is disingenuous to say the least.

Oi have a word with yourself saying Sergio is made of glass or have you got memory loss about what he's done for the club.
Aguero deserves every inch of our respect.

I tend to agree on reflection but just think I’d rather see the £60m going towards getting Haaland. We might get two fantastic years out of Lewandowski but 10 out of Haaland for how much more??

I love sergio more than anyone but we can't kd ourselves in to thinking he is as reliable an option as Lewandowski who seems to get better with age.

100 goals fewer than Lewandowski over the last 5 seasons. That's a HUGE difference.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Agüero but his injury record is clearly a major if not the sole reason he is leaving the club, I would love him to stay but it just won't happen.

I heard plenty of "true blues" call Micah and Vinnie's joints glass so don't come to me saying it's blasphemous to say a club legend has injury issues to the point of diminishing returns.

The ESPN story in which this rumor is based on is... weak, to say the least.
