Ha ha that made me chuckle a little!

I understand the point, the circumstances (weather and filthy opposition) demanded a tough approach so Hughes got it spot on by making the changes when he did.

I thought he was going like for like with Bellemy and Tevez, Ugly for ugly ......

Hmm well IMO Robinho plays best against proper footballing sides and not sides that like to kick the living shit out of you, so today's performance was to be expected (it was ok). Once we're back in Europe and are regular top four contenders, so the refs will give us proper protection like what tranny used to get. IMO i think Robinho will be a class apart from anyone else in the league and he will get his 30 goals a year target.

What did people think of his contribution today?

In the long run it will definitely help him having more combative players around him so he has the freedom to roam and do serious damage, but as a whole he wasn't particularly involved much. I think this is the Robi we are going to see for as long as he is with us. When games are going our way he will turn on the style, and when games are tough he will lie dormant whilst the rest graft to give him the space and the ball to work his magic. Is Hughes going to be prepared to make an exception with Robi in terms of his overall contribution to the team across 90 minutes?
glad he went off instead of bellamy.he just did not get in the game today.thought he lacked a bit of pace today

Robbie is an exceptional player but the fact is he goes in and out of games. I love the connection he has with Ireland on the pitch, at times they are on a different wavelength from all the other players. Today when the rain started to come down Hughesy sensed that we needed all the players to really graft and see the win out, thats why I think he took him off.

cheeky bastard you know what I mean LOL

Robinho does seem to play better when it's warm and sunny

he was great at the beginning and end of last season but not so great in the depths of winter

We had 5 shots on target today, from memory Robinho had at least 2 of them well saved by Robinson so I'd say he was doing his job - he's not a defensively minded player and shouldn't be expected to do much defending or tackling IMO.

I don't think he is fit enough to last 90mins and at times it showed today.

He's talked a good game for a long time, it's time to shine now Robbie! He's not the only big name here now and if he does not put the effort in you he last the 90 (as was proved today)

To accomodate Tevez who was always going to play it was either going to be Robbie, Bellars, or SWP, Robbie is class in a glass I don't know what effect he has on the opposition players by being on the pitch never seems to get publisized, but as other posters have said on here it only takes a few seconds for him to conjure up some magic, in the pissing rain, away at hoof ball Rovers he was contributing less in graft than the other two players even though in my opinion he had contributed just as much in skill, no doubt he will have a full 90 mins at Nou Camp to build up match fitness along with Ade and Tevez as compensation, because Mh has already stated Bellars can't play three games in a week.
