Last season RVP was without doubt the best player i saw at the Etihad.

His movement and ability to stretch a defence to create space for others is second only to Aguero.

When i imagine RVP alongside Aguero with Silva and Nasri behind them my mouth starts to water, here's hoping!

I scratch my head when i see people posting they don't want him?

92 fucking chances he created last season imagine Aguero having that sort of supply.

Add to that the goals he'd score with Silva and Nasri supplying him along with Aguero making the space, and visa versa

If we sign RvP for a penny more than 15m and wages anywhere near the likes of Aguero i will be disappointed in Mancini.

We have a perfectly good set of 4 strikers. One could go off the rails but he might not and if he doesn't he is better than RvP imo.

Focus this season should be going in with the same squad minus the ones who have left/leaving but have a few players come in as backup.

If we keep the squad together from last season bar a few players we will be stronger anyway. No real need to be chopping players just because there are others out there.

A full pre season with our current squad and a few additions will make us a much stronger team for next season straight away.

While I agree RvP is a top player, I'd say Cavani was much more impressive than him both at the Etihad and when we played them away. He scored 3 goals in 2 games against us whereas RvP scored 0 goals in 2 games against us. Kompany and Lescott seemed completely helpless against Cavani.

I've never had the pleasure of seeing Cavani play live so i can't really pass judement on his overall play and that's how i like to assess players.

Napoli style of play is counter attacking where Arsenal play in front of you on the edge of the box so hard to compare players playing differant styles.

Arsenal's style of play is closer to the way we play so i can see the RVP fit, so to speak.

Don't get me wrong, i wouldn't turn my nose up at Cavani but i can only judge what i've seen live and i like what i've seen.

I understand your reasoning and that's fair enough, but for me it's Cavani all day. He was unplayable at our place and I've watched him a lot for Napoli since then. His pace, movement, heading ability, composure and age just make him perfect.

'usual goal.com shite'

They have a very good source for City stories now.

could you tell me which stories they have broken first and/or who their very good source is at City?

Could he partner Aguero though?

Aguero has to be the lead man, as does Cavani, what would give?

RVP would drop off Aguero and work around him, it's a partnership made in heaven, imho

I agree with you re rvp and he knows the league and how to play in it; my concerns are keeping the fee and wages down (so we can sort out a new cb and a top class wide midfield player) and his injury record; personally I think Bobby wants rvp instead of Edin so he can continue to play through the middle and without the need for wingers

As good as he is and whatever the stats the reality of it is that RVP would make little impact compared to the strikers we've used this season, not many players would. Spending the sums involved on an ageing crock is wasteful
