I'd say when he can be bothered Balo has a better work-rate than Dzeko.
jlc09, do you think Van Persie is a big ego? I remeber he wanted to fight with Krul and refused to shake Caldwell's hand(both after matches.)?

RVP is feisty and desperate to win every match, the man has an edge to his game like that. Many Dutch guys are like that - Bergkamp was one of the most graceful players I've ever seen yet he'd have no problem elbowing or nutting someone if they were annoying him.

With Krul, he was timewasting from 30 minutes in, and when we won it in the 95th minute Van Persie gave him the ball and said 'timewaste now if you want'. LOL. Krul erupted. I love that stuff. On Caldwell, Wigan mugged us with 5 at the back, 3 centre-backs vs Van Persie and he got zero supply all game, was outnumbered and manhandled, he was petty at the end but thats Robin, he hates to lose. Henry was the same, could turn nasty very quick.

But the days of him getting sent off or doing stupid stuff off the picth are long gone, he's a pure family man these days and actually great to listen to, very intelligent and articulate.

You know you're in trouble when you're tactically out thought by Hughes

For 89 mins he had us mate and the league title in United hands. Hughes is a tool but I actually rate him tbf. Moyes is the same and O'Neil, never have a 'comfortable' game v them.

Nah it's pretty standard stuff he uses against us, not exactly revolutionising the game like Guardiola, Hughes gets his sides defending in numbers, close down the flanks and make us play centrally, hit on the break. Heavy pressing off the ball.

I don't think you can put that down to tactical knowledge and decisions.

We battered them for the entire first half. The drama was all our own doing after a stupid mistake.

If Lescott hadn't headed the ball back they would never have gotten near us.

well! happy days then eh. fucking hell.

I'd actually prefer if we tried to get some players in exchange for RVP, dont know why we dont try that more often. Although we did it with Ashley Cole / Gallas so maybe thats turned Wenger off the idea! Gallas sulking in the centre circle at Birmingham is not a good look for a supposed 'leader'!

You rate him? He ruined Robinho, got mom against Blackburn and Wolves then drops him for the next game, plays Kompany as a defensive midfielder, away to Stoke their down to 10 men, we keep getting to the by-line and crossing it for SWP, Bellemy and Robinho(with Caicedo on the bench!) couldn't hold leads against, Burnley and Hull at home, plays Sylvinho against Lennon(then after the match signals out Robinho for not tracking back)

It won Chelsea the CL mate. QPR defended extremely well and balnked out our strikers for most of the game. I agree about Lescott, that Cisse goal really set us back.

the thing what O'Neil, Hughes and Moyes do is concentrate with the defense. they make them hard to beat and attack is always second priority. It's always a task facing such teams.

We dominated QPR, we dominated Sunderland (their place) and we fought hard even though we were lacklustre v Everton. We only got 3 points from those 3 games.

Haha fair enough, I actually think Hughes is a solid Premiership manager tbh, might have been out of his depth with what City were trying to achieve but with a certain level of team I think he does a solid job. QPR should be fine next year with him in charge in my view.

Still not forgot that elbow on kompany when they was both on the deck at the emirates in the 0-0 last year. ****.

RSC, Bridge, Savic, Adebayor.

Take your pick :)

Can even put them in a nice ribbon and deliver as soon as this weekend. I work Sundays for important jobs.

But the way it went against QPR wasn't down to them having a tactical game plan to stop us playing, and if it was then it didn't work until we brought it on ourselves, all im saying is that we weren't in trouble due to being outsmarted tactically.

Moyes and oneil I will give you when speak about building a solid defence - think Hughes has proved, especially with us that it really isn't one of his strong points

And tbf we were shocking that day in the 4-2, Hughes completely mugged us tactically and not for the first time. Got us at QPR this season aswell, Zamora having one of his few good games of the season when we turn up.

with the greatest of respect complementing Hughes on tactics in the home game against QPR is a little bit of nonsense. how many teams have done the exact same thing park the bus and work hard and hope that they got a lucky break if their forwards work hard? in fairness mackie and cisse did work hard but they got lucky as we made a mistake, no tactical masterclass there.

also warnock was in charge when we played at QPR and Zamora was still at Fulham at that stage of the season

Santa Cruz is still a City player? Bloody hell, didnt know that.

I'll pass on those, although Adebayor would help us it could never happen. Burned those bridges. I was thinking more like De Jong and Zabaleta haha.

Mate I can't knock you about that because you're right.

I think he didn't have a good spell with City. Too much pressure on him and he didn't go about things well. Bought players for sake of it rather than a method about his pruchasing.

Balckburn he was tremendous and got everything out of Derbyshire and Bentley. Steadied a ship at QPR and kept them up. Did ok at Fulham.

I can't rip into him too much mate. I'd rate him in the top third of prem manager but not close to Fergie, Mancini, Wenger.

He's a safe appointment for many teams in prem.
