Is it just me who can sense a Rooney-like turn around from RVP, mega money contract, stays at Arsenal?

I personally believe its not about money. If he stays Arsenal are not going to be any different than previous years - also rans.
At nearly 29 years,he now see`s the be all and end all,of winning something more than an FA Cup Winners medal.I would like to think with him on board,we can deliver again and maybe have a better chance in the CL.

I see Chemical Alex's big pal Bob Cass has been forced to plant his usual downplaying of expectations today on the back of the Mail on Sunday.

Just 24 hours after the pisscan announced he was forced to declare United's bid, because Arsenal had done so (still waiting for anyone to produce evidence of this) United now fear being blown out of the water by City.

Mancini is at odds with the owners and demanding they pay whatever it takes to secure RVP and United won't be held to ransom and they will continue to put their faith in youth.

This is unlike City, who he considers as favourites for the title ("No doubt about that") yet insists he isn't losing sleep and United are the team to fear.

So many contradictions, so many lies. Groundhog day.

So any United 'interest' in RVP was just posturing for their fans, essentially?

If Mancini is at odds with the owners, couldn't he have clarified his position when he was signing his new contract a few weeks ago!

Why wait till now? Surely he got assurances as to who he could sign?

It would be barmy if he hadn't strenghtened his position at the club this summer.

It's bollocks. Just to be VERY clear.

Bob Cass is writing Mancini is at odds with City because of the RVP delay.

Cass leaked the story to the Mirror on behalf of the pisscan on Thursday, knowing on the Friday he would then be going on MUTV to state United's bid.

Cass has simply today done the job of downplaying the expectation levels and carried out the United narrative.

That they are supposedly competing for the very top players, the Glazers are great owners, and players only come to us and not United because of money.

They did the same to Nasri last summer and has been stigmatised ever since in the media.

Pretty much, but it's a a combination of things/agendas.

United have an upcoming market float in New York and have to be seen and heard making the right noises.

What Ferguson has done so far re Van Persie is akin to them bidding £10m for Messi. Would he take Messi, pretty sure he would!

Would Barcelona accept £10m, would Messi accept £100k a week?

Makes for good headlines and keeps the pot boiling. A win win.

But he's currently chancing his arm on buying a 50p raffle ticket when he knows he might have to buy a few more raffles tickets to get even close.

Has clearly been given an indication Van Persie would at least consider them.

Cheers Tolmie, I think it goes without saying that Van Persie would consider United if the personal terms were competitive, so no reason to be too panicked by him giving that indication as far as I can see.

It's looking like this one could rumble on right up to/past the start of the season then a la Nasri?

If he signs for them, you will get your answer.

And should he sign for us, he will still have preferred them over us ;)

We just have to let City go about our business.

I'm still very positive that if he stays in England, we are faves. Especially so, following Cass' plant today.

Van Persie is perfectly entitled to believe that he has chances of winning with United also.

-- Sun Jul 22, 2012 10:03 am --

Not sure it will. Would expect us to do our talking to Arsenal face to face in China over coming days.

Still unsure where this leaves our current strikeforce.

That was a while back, the two piss-heads are back sharing intimates over a bottle of Buckfast on a regular basis.

Vid still cracks me up, though.

Sycophants, lick spittle shitbags, the majority of them. Cass the biggest.
