Ferguson apparently in Germany but not at United's game against Hannover. Away on "club business". Arsenal training camp coincidentally is in Germany.
Welbeck mysteriously missing aswell.

Fair enough, but just calm the fuck down. Big Ed's a nice guy, but remember what they say about nice guys and where they finish. He contributes, but those countless chances that went wanting last year HAVE to be put away this year if he's to solidify his place at the club.
Countless chances missed? Rubbish

He's right about missed chances. I really like Edin as well. Seems like a proper nice guy, but he squanders a lot of chances. If you re watch the 6-1, sure he scored twice, but he could have easily scored 4+! Even the commentator says "he's only been on the pitch 10 minutes and could have had a hatrick". His positioning is great, a lot better than most target men strikers out there, but he often fails with his strike and first touch.

I rewatched the Newcastle away game the other day and he managed to bring down a long ball brilliantly, but when faced with the keeper he totally sky'd the ball. I know you can say that is an isolated incident but it happened far to much last year.

Edin is a player who thrives on confidence.. Once he's got it he's as good as any big striker going, the problem is he loses that confidence too easily. You can quote me all the figures you like about how many goals he scored last season, but for me, with the midfield we've got servicing him, it should be more.

RvP has all that confidence, which is why I think Bobby likes him so much. Even with Arsenal seemingly falling away he managed to take them by the scruff of the neck and power them to vital victories. Same confidence you'll see in Sergio, Balotelli, and Tevez.

For a Welshman that's a good post and one I agree with.

Piss off Marvin you spaz, your deluded opinions are getting horrendously worse than ever. If you can't remember how many chances Edin missed then the fact that you believe Johnson and Kolarov are quality players in their respective positions really doesn't surprise me.

Haha thanks. If someone can find me the shots/goals ratio for last season for all strikers I'd love to see it. I hate to say it but I expect Edin to be quite low on the leaderboard.

If he stays though I'd love him to hit his form, because he's a great character and good role model in football.

Something else I noticed about last season is this: When Balotelli was seemingly being punished for his antics against LA Galaxy in the pre season and Dzeko was starting every game, he was on top form (4 at WHL etc.). Also when Balotelli came off the bench to play, he made a huge impact. It was great! When they switched roles and Bobby started Balotelli and was subbing Dzeko on late in games, both players performances started to fade. It seems Dzeko thrives on confidence and starting positions, where Balotelli thrives on the desire to prove his worth!
