Robinho (Merged)

I wouldn't say Hughes didn't fancy him.

I think Mark Bowen would beg to differ

I wouldn't say Mancini didn't either.

Mancini was full of praise for Robbie when he came but I think he was genuinely shocked at how bad he was for us. The game against Everton Mancini was shaking his head at Robbie almost in shock at what he was seeing. It spoke volumes that Mancini seemed to think a lot of him and knows all about managing top players but a few weeks after working with him Robbie was off to Santos

And i definitely don't think he's done anything that warrants City fans wanting to see him have his legs snapped.

Maybe not but City fans have supported Robinho and sang his name and in return he's shown very little commitment off the pitch whilst regularly waxing lyrical publically about other clubs off it

To be fair i don't think this season has been the best time to judge him giving he was still recovering from a pretty bad injury.

To be honest i thought the Bowen interview was just a way of booting the boot in to cover up for his Hughes' failure's, especially away from home. Deflecting the blame almost.

Agreed on the wanting to play for Barca thing. But again, you could argue that no player would turn down the chance to play for them. Probably shouldn't have said it in public, but i suppose it's hard to be political with your answers when you're being continually questioned by the press over it. It was unprofessional, but we all know that only the most die hard City fan wouldn't leave City to play for Barcelona.

nothing would make me happier than a fit again Robby come back in a settled and established top team...seeing how some of the knob jockeys react, who love to slag him off on here, would be a sight to behold too..
You keep dreaming kiddo, one day it might come true.

Wonderful talent but lost all respect by his refusal to buckle down and improve the other aspects of his game - his inability to control his big gob whenever interviewed in the foreign press didn't help either.
He had an unbelievable opportuntity to prove he was a great player and decided it wasn't for him.

Moved to Real Madrid - couldn't get in the first team / had fight with Graveson / threw toys out of the pram - left
Moved to Man City - scored 15 goals in first season / injured second season / couldn't get in the first team / toys out of pram - left
Moved to Santos - Chosen the easy way out and to be big fish in little pond / scored on debut / ???

Also he's only ever been bought by owners/presidents, managers and coaches have steered well clear.

It beggers belief how many people actually think that Robinho couldn't get in the Real Madrid first team. He didn't leave because of his lack of first team games, he left because of various reasons mainly linked to them wanting Ronaldo and trying to use Robinho as bait
