Robinho talks about leaving to the rest of the team

Neil McNab said:
Robinho himself came out at the end of last week and said he was very happy at City
"Everything is good for me at City. We have a good side, great support and a fantastic new stadium to look forward to. Everything is going really well, I like living in Manchester and feel very settled here."
- Nicholas Anelka 2003 - do people never learn

To be fair, Anelka has played for us more than he has played for anyone else in his career. He went on to play another 2 seasons after that quote didn't he?

If Robinho stayed for another 2 seasons hopefully by then he would have no reason to think of Barca as a step up.

For those that think that when Robinho says he is happy at City and doesn't want a move that it means he doesn't want a move read below.

This is the first time I have felt completely happy at a club - Chelsea is the first football club I can call home. I have no plans to move again. The players are my good friends and I have a great relationship with the fans. It took a long time for me to find a club that I can call home, but this is it." Can the man who has no less than eight clubs on his CV finally be settled? According to what he told the Sun today, it would seem so. Though a quick trawl through some previous quotes may suggest otherwise...

PSG, 2001
"I'm content to stay with PSG and win a title, which I will do. Everywhere I've played I've won titles. If I left now it would be showing disrespect to the president, the coach Luis Fernandez and the supporters. I get along very well with everyone here and that is important for me."
Result: No title was won, and just months later he signed on loan for...

Liverpool, 2002
"I'm happy at Liverpool, yes, I would like to stay here. And not just for a year or two, but for a long time. Everything about the place impresses me. The players, the supporters and the club as a whole. Anfield is also one of the best places I have played football - that's why I want to stay here. I have begun to enjoy my football again. I think it's down to the whole environment."
Result: Off-field issues meant Houllier didn't fancy keeping him, so on he went to...

Manchester City, 2003
"Everything is good for me at City. We have a good side, great support and a fantastic new stadium to look forward to. Everything is going really well, I like living in Manchester and feel very settled here."
Result: To nobody's surprise it didn't take long for Nic to become unsettled, and he upped sticks again, this time to Turkey with...

Fenerbahce, 2005
"I haven't received any offer [from Newcastle], I've said many times that I'm happy here. Those who want me in their teams forget that I have a club, Fenerbahce. If they did they'd know that an offer should be made to my club, not me."
Result: And he didn't hang around when an offer did eventually arrive, but from...

Bolton, 2007
"The truth is that I could have left in the last transfer window. But I didn't want to because I want to do something with this club. I love the fans and I love the club. Bolton helped me come back to England - which I wanted to do - and I won't forget that."

Result: He soon forgot all about it when Avram Grant looked up Bolton's fax number...

Cue fingers in ears, hands over eyes and tape over the mouths of those who insist that we believe every word that is fed to us by anyone in Football!

Hughes doesn't want him to play because people will remember how little he does in a game and his value will plummet.

Makes sense, Barca want a player who does very little in a game. It's why they're going for Fabregas as well.

If they watched Bellamy every week I'd bet they'd put in a huge bid for him (

2bh I'd go 2 Liverpool on loan, and I think he made a mistake going to Turkey, and who wouldn't swap bolton for chelsea? he can say what he wants but clubs paid some pretty decent fees to buy him so I don't think he would have had too much of a say anyway.

Santa Cruz shouldn't have got drawn on this, and by the sounds of it the media have twisted his words.

What are City going to do about the continual media attempts at unsettling our players? Cos that is what they are trying to do. For so long City have been the media's MUPPETS, the team they could laugh at and poke fun at.

Our fans need to wake up and smell the bacon. Im not the most intelligent person but if i can see what the media are playing at most of you guys should.

Hughes will deal with this accordingly. I don't see why we need to get so OTT over every little thing, this forum's turning into a joke.

He and his brother made a craeer out of engineering moves!

The point of the post was that anything, anyone says in football needs to be taken with a ton of salt. Talk is cheap and time and time again, statements from players, chairmen, agents etc have been proved to have meant nothing.

It takes two fuckers to make a fuck and at the start of this Robinho was a wanker!
Agents (at players requests), rogue agents, players themselves, journos and managers all play the same games. The individual responsible for most of this claims still to be doing Robinhos bidding!

Thankyou and thanks to big fat sam who himself sprouted utter shite with our very own move for Santa Crock

Robbie's got 4 years to go on his City contract and we don't need the money, so he either playswell for city. scores amd makes lots of goals, or he warms the bench or plays in the reserves for the next 4 years - his choice.

Hughes is a disciplinarian and won't put up with sh&t from prima donnas.
