Robinho the biggest waste of money...

You can't blame Robinho for the fact that the team is putting in poor performances. Other players are also culpable. But it irritates me that some appear to think that he is somehow too good for City. Kinkladze and Le Tissier were in ordinary and at times poor teams but they contributed far more that our super star. Last night Robinho did run about a lot but in possession he constantly lost the ball.

Increasingly my belief in Hughes getting it right is one of hope over reality. It appears to me that the same could apply to Robinho. But as I believe (just about) that Hughes must be given more time then so should Robinho.

This is not slagging the player off but just passing an opinion which after all is what I think this board is for.

He'll be gone in the summer anyway, we can all stop moaning then..........yeah right ;-D

FFS what is wrong with half of you??
Ok he is not world class but he is one of our better players

Set up the first goal by controlling an 80 yard ball, waltzing past a player and setting up Ireland - now that is not crap is it?
He draws one if not two defenders everytime the ball goes anywhere near him so it is up to the other players around him to take advantage of that - when we buy in Summer we will address that and you will see the real potential of Robinho

Is it me or does he not seem to be going past defenders anymore,he just seems to lose the ball a lot in all the 1 on 1s

It's a confidence issue, wish he'd stop those cack slow step overs though, do it at pace or don't bother.

They work better in the box, it's more a of a way into goading the defender into trying to knick the ball, then beating him. Robbie never had great pace so i think he has to try and get the defender to make his move then catch him off balance. Players like Messi and Tranny can just knock it past and run.

Robinho’s a world class player but Hughes plays him out of position 90% of the time and that ends up unbalancing the team. Last night was a great example, by moving SWP to the middle and Robinho to the right wing (with licence to wonder over to the left) it left Richards exposed and it just added to the problems we have down the left.

Personally I would play Robinho as an out and out striker with someone alongside him and leave the midfield duties (tracking back, helping defenders etc) to the rest of midfield.

Not looked like scoring for months, he's a passenger time to drop the useless tw@t.
