100% agree, I'd rather have players who want to fight for the shirt than player who can be arsed now and again, also we actually have the money to buy these players as well, who have the same talent as Robinho and will also put in a great shift when needed.

You're in fantasy land because these players do not exist.

And in my view Robinho did plenty of work without the ball. You'd probably be happy if the mongs drove him out of the club which says it all.
I actually like the guy and want him to stay, but if he was to go I can't say I'd be too arsed tbh. We've proved in games such as West Ham at home and Sunderland away before he came and Schalke away and Villa at home that we can win games and put on great performances without him.

Well stop fucking starting threads like this then.

It makes me fucking seethe with anger TBH. Everyone knows the tabloid ***** pick up half their stories from here and utter wank like this just feeds their fire.

Robbie's going through a bad patch but he was the ONLY player to come close to scoring tonight.

We are lucky to have a player of his class, he needs support in his first ever season in the Premier League. The abuse he's getting off his own fans is disgusting, the rags could not do better.

I'll leave this thread for my own sanity now.
I started this thread because it's a discussion board and I wanted to discuss his performance, I will always support him at matches but I pay good money to watch these players and if I don't think one of them is pulling their weight I will say on here. He's a professional footballer with a shit load of money so obviously he will have much better things to do than look at football forums to cry about people criticising him, so like I said i'll say so on here where he won't hear my abuse and get behind him at games.

Was listening to the radio earlier and the 'experts' were saying good players very rarely get sold from Real Madrid in their prime. Also said no top 4 team would touch him, sadly I agree. He does not want to play for our club and it's clear from his lack of effort and average play (remember he cost 32m) it's time people stopped kidding themsleves.

Yeh lets forget the 11 goals and 14 assists he got in La Liga last season for the Spanish champions, what an average player
imagine if robbie was over at the swamp you would have andy gray and co wetting there pants week in week out with substandard performances, i think its all to easy to point the finger at him yes he should be doing more but so should the rest around him! More to come from him and with a bit of poatience think we will see it before season is over and defo for next season
Watch the fellas first touch. Kin tuned in. Can't do it game in game in game out but he has the magic. C'mon lads it's a team game.

I don't think he's anywhere near 100% fit, and hasn't been since the Arsenal match. Hopefully we can start resting him a bit and make sure he is fit and firing for the important UEFA Cup games ahead.

What Robinho does have is the expectation of millions of people on his shoulders; he has to justify his move to us to everyone who criticized his decision. He now also has to deal with thousands of our own fans heightening the pressure with no reprieve or support. No player can be consistent in every game and if the other 10 players aren't particularly performing well a a team what is one man to change? (I know at this point people will attempt to assert that Messi can turn a game in Barcelona's favour- I would counter that he cannot do it in every game (or even most of the games where the rest of his team is underperforming) and even he has games where his performance is distinctly average).
I think what we Manchester City fans need is a little bit of perspective, it cannot be expected of any one player that they should independently pull us out of an unsatisfactory position of 11 players making. Some people may assert that Robinho's performance last night lacked effort, I would assert that they lack effort in their analysis. What was clear was that when he received the ball in a wide position he did so without help and with 3, 4 sometimes 5 players between him and the goal, he had no other choice but to play the ball parallel. When he did get into positions in front of goal they were usually of his own making, (his shot from outside the area at the start of the game, his build-up play before hitting the crossbar, his taking on of an AaB player with a shot from an acute angle). These instances happen in every game, they just go unnoticed because he does not get himself on the scoresheet in every game.
Moreover, do not forget that he is a footballer in a league where teams have an unfamiliar footballing mentality to his, playing out of position.

Has it accurred to anyone that playing for City could be a bit of a culture shock for him? Think about it he came from Real Madrid and plays for Brazil, these to teams are generally camped in the oppostion half (home or away). So for him to be first getting beat every week away from home might not sit well in his head then we have the other players around him Evans, Richards,Dunne and the like are hardly the team-mates he is used to and also what do people expect from him? At Real and Brazil he ISNT the main man and isnt marked by 2 players these two teams have other players(Kaka, Raul, Ronaldinho ect) for the opposition to worry about that would leave him more space

I can't believe some of the shit on this thread.

How the fuck does anybody come to the conclusion that he can't be arsed?

I watched the game and time and time again i saw him closing defenders down, chasing a number of lost causes and generally working hard.

Meanwhile Ched fucking Evans gives free-kicks away left right and centre, has a shit touch and tends to just stand there while 3 defenders play keep ball. Hate to imagine the reaction if that was Robbie just watching that.

I don't know what people expect. SWP didn't turn up, Ireland couldn't pass wind. Big Phil has the touch of a rapist and the pace of a geriatric. These are the players he has to play with. Pele would have struggled in our team when the rest of the lads don't turn up.

Infact pick any world superstar and if he has to play with players who simply aren't on the same wave length, he is going to be inconsistent. Kaka, Messi, Tranny etc would all look the same when the rest of the team can't pass, don't move off the ball etc...

In the summer it's very likely that we'll sign some players who are on the same wave length. At the minute we are playing with a borderline world class player creating chances for a championship standard forward. All this team is lacking is a world class target man and the option of wingers. We'll be a different team altogether because we'll have a plan B and all these new players will have had a full season together.

It takes time, we've been gifted all this money, big name players want to come here, we've got Robinho back, SWP is back, Ireland is superman, Dunne is getting back to his old self, Petrov and Bojinov are on the way back, Johno will be soon, benjani and vassell are probably off, Danny Mills is now a commentator, we're in the last 8 of the waffa cup and we are challenging for our best ever finish in the Premier League. I don't know about anybody else but i'd have fuking well taken this 12 months ago.

Some players need to be bollocked,, some made to feel special.... i feel he is the latter

Does hughes strike you as being able to do this.....
not to me.....

i cant believe 6 months in and people want him out!!!!!

I was surprised at how hard he worked tbh and didn't shirk a challenge.

He has bags and bags of talent and trickery. He isn't as good as I thought he was though. The number of times he has the ball where I expect him to go a mazy run leaving defenders in his wake before getting a shot in, and the lazy fecker can't be arsed!!
