Many clubs have been floated on the stock market over the last 100 or so years.

It's a means to an end. That is where the cycle started and it has now ended, according to you lot. In hindsight it ended when Edwards floated your club. It became a PLC and was up for grabs to the highest bidder. The rest is history.

Tell us about Fergie and why he gambled Manchester United for the sake of a victory over the two Irish horse trainers. Isn't it amazing that no United fan, ex-player or celeb ever mentions that as one of the defining moments of United's demise of the pitch.

Feel free.
"he gambled Manchester United for the sake of a victory against the Irish horse trainers".

Malcolm was the major shareholder at Utd at the time, he held 51% of the club, no matter what, he was going for total control of United a decade before the horse thing.
But even with that hanging over Fergie's head, he was still a winner.

3 on the bounce and few cups.

But that has been erased form the history books. Ask any Rag or FCUM fan and it never happened and it wasn't the cause of the Glazer's eventually buying United. It just didn't happen. Honest!

Fergie lost the case and the horse. United fans lost the club.

Apart from being true, that would make a brilliant banner.

ALL THIS OVER A HORSE

In green and yellow of course.

The irony.

Tis the truth. But do not bring it up before Fergie, ex-players, celebs, United fans, Fcum fans, and anyone one else with their fingers in their ears shouting "I don't want to hear that" at the top of their voices.

A they call us the liars.

Night :-)

I'm genuinely struggling with that. What do you mean with the last sentence?

If they love United why ditch the club in their time of need?

Supporting 2 teams...LOL
Protesting, It winds the owners up, can't you see that, ticket sales down, those supporters would have filled the ground for Carling cup games.
ha ha fuckin behave.....you weren't filling the swamp for carling cup games long before fucked up united of bury were formed, you probably only get the crowds you do now because of the cup scheme shite you have to buy with your season ticket. what happens to fc united of bury if/when the glazers fuck off? do you all go scuttling back like cockroaches?

Look, if Ferguson kept Coolomore onside, the Glazers wouldn't be in charge.

It's really that simple.

He was going too. But at the time he couldn't. He needed the other shares. He got them in the end because Fergie pissed off the Irish and they sold their shares to the GLAZERS TO TEACH FERGIE A LESSON. You know it. We all know it. Admit it.

Whether you care to admit it or not, a large part of this mess at United lies at the feet of Fergie. He thought he could take on the big boys.(in Court) He lost. United lost.

All I was saying, at the time United was on a downward spiral because of the turmoil, SAF came up with 3 leagues on the bounce and a European cup.

Fergie won £5 million, OK you say he lost, the so called Coolmore mafia never set foot in Trafford, they went because they was given an offer that was nearly double the investment, but go on, live this life of saying Fergie bought the end of United, after all he did for the club, put it this way, if Sir Alex blew the club up with a bomb he would still be an hero.
