More being the operative word,i thought we were worse after he went offWe weren't in control with him, or without him, in that second half tonight.
Bernardo, Rodri, Gundogan, even Foden were all poor, Angelino put in a few good crosses, but another that gave the ball away far too often, like Mahrez on the other side. These players are considered "first team" even if not all regular starters at the moment, there was a bunch of poor performances tonight, and Rodri was one of them.

There was a moment in the first half where he gave the ball away, Oxford attacked and had a shot and his effort to get back was abysmal.
This sort of thing is a regular aspect to his game.
He’s been extremely hit and miss so far. Had some cracking games but hides when the going gets tough and is full of mistakes.
For a club record signing he’s as disappointing as Mahrez for me.

After he went off we got a bit of control of the ball again, scored a third, put the game to bed, then sat back and defended.More being the operative word,i thought we were worse after he went off

He's being given time, I thought he was abysmal last night for a senior player surrounded by reserves and kids, so I said so, just like I've said he was brilliant when he has been brilliant, but there's the issue, inconsistency, and I'm exactly the same with Mahrez, and Gundogan who are just as inconsistent at the moment, although recently you could easily say that Mahrez has become consistent.
I think inconsistency this season has been the main problem for many and I can’t think of more than 2/3 players who have been exempt from that. On our day we can still blow teams away like we did with Burnley and Arsenal but then we throw in really average performances. I was disappointed in his performance last night. I thought the midfield was poor as a unit both offensively and defensively. He has been hit and miss for me and his lack of pace is a concern in this league.

To be honest I don't think any are exempt from it this season, not even our best players, Rodri has had a couple of 9/10's but equally a couple of 5/10's, he's even been coached during the game by a stand in CB, I think he's very much learning on the job, he was hooked early last night, not to save him for the weekend, but to get someone who is more trusted at this stage on (and I'm sure he is that trustworthy either).I think inconsistency this season has been the main problem for many and I can’t think of more than 2/3 players who have been exempt from that.
Trouble is people offer opinions on a players game performance, and the others take it as an opinion on the players season/career, I understand some people feel the need to defend players, but ironically those people are sometimes guilty of the exact same with other players.
