I'll state what I want thanks, I didn't say it was fact, but thanks anyway for your probably wrong comment.

Rodri has started every game since Burnley, that's 5 games in a row over 15 days, and in 3 of them played (nearly) 90 minutes, including the previous game against Arsenal. Given that he is probably going to start against Leicester, it was only natural that he was subbed early in the 2nd half. So, your opinion is based on very little.

At least he has been posting his opinion since 2007, you only rolled up in August. Unless of course you posted under a different name. Rodri should be well capable of playing every 3 days. Running isn't something he does much of.

He is learning a new way to play, fitness wise he should be fine but mentally he is learning a lot, dropped in the deep end,it is not helping him settle in that the others are not playing well and pep has persisted with him ,gundy and dave together

I wholly agree that those particular 3 should not play together. For some reason we have ended up with a lot of slowish players, That's something we need to address especially if we lose Sane.

There was a moment in the first half where he gave the ball away, Oxford attacked and had a shot and his effort to get back was abysmal.

This sort of thing is a regular aspect to his game.

He’s been extremely hit and miss so far. Had some cracking games but hides when the going gets tough and is full of mistakes.

For a club record signing he’s as disappointing as Mahrez for me.
Was that the moment when Mahrez played the “I don’t want the ball anymore so here, you take this sloppy pinged ball from wing to you in midfield with your back to their goal and two or three Oxford players within a metre of you already pressing that you’ll have to stretch for in order to have any hope of controlling and, if you don’t miraculously control it, you’ll need to chase one or more of those opposition players half the length of the pitch hoping they misplace a subsequent pass or strangely slow down the counter considerably to give you any hope of being able to put in a challenge to win the ball that won’t result in a dangerous freekick/penalty and a yellow/red card” pass to him?

Or another moment? ;-)

Fernandinho and Rodri are very different players with different strenghts and weaknesses.
People making unflattering comparisons tend to overlook two things.
- The defense behind behind the DM is severely compromised compared to last season.
- Intensity of the press in front of the DM has diminished greatly.
The latter means that opposition arrives in a much more organised fashion and is able to stretch you more.
Play Fern at DM right now and the same people that are on Rodri's case would be screaming that his legs have gone. (they haven't)

so tired of reading this myth of rodri being slow
He's slow in thought at the moment, as proved a couple of times this afternoon, where he nearly gave possession away on the edge of our box.

he was hooked early last night, not to save him for the weekend, but to get someone who is more trusted at this stage on
No need to state your personal and probably completely wrong opinion as a fact.
As I said, I didn't state it as fact, it was an opinion
Given that he is probably going to start against Leicester, it was only natural that he was subbed early in the 2nd half. So, your opinion is based on very little.
My opinion was based on what I saw Pep do, when a player is hooked to rest him, Pep almost always goes to the player with a "well done", but he ignored Rodri on Wednesday night, but you told me it was because he was being rested for Saturday.

Was that so he could come on for a whole 15 minutes after the game was effectively won ?

I'll stick by my opinion that he was hooked on Wednesday because he was playing shite as one of our senior players, and not starting in a big game today is pretty much proof of that imho.

I have not been wowed. Jury still out for me for the price we paid.
