Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

But maybe some sort of a levy on clubs and on players earning over say 30 or 40 k a week could be used to keep the greedy bastards happy and the fixture list down to essential matches only.
Also the major tournaments would remain and that is where most of the big money comes from. If this injury to Rodri is to mean something moving forward let it result in less meaningless football either at national or international level. After all and ironically he did broach the subject hours before this disaster happened to him.

If Haaland gets injured after not buying a replacement for Alvarez he will look stupid in this case, I'm not talking about his history at the club.
Alvarez was never really an out and out striker for us and it beggars belief that Pep and Txiki wouldn’t have had a long in depth convo about whether Pep wanted to bolster our attacking options if Alvarez were to be sold.

Our false 9 option is a much better replacement for big Erl than any striker on the market were he to be injured

I really feel for him.

Coming from arguably a career high last season (on par with the treble season before), and widely considered one of (if not the) best and most influential players in the world, to being ruled out for the season six games in, with a major knee injury in your absolute prime (and all of the doubt and worry that will bring, even after he recovers).

Many of us have gone through this—albeit at a much lower level, with far less support, both in quantity and quality—and will know how difficult it can be.

But he is a person that is generally quite sensible (pissed up singing aside) and, with the help of the club and others, I am sure he will get through this and come out the other end stronger for it. Better still, this is an in between year for international tournaments, so on a personal level, if it had to happen, this was best timing.

And, luckily for him, his game has never really been based on pace or agility, which is usually what is hit hardest with ACL and meniscus injuries. With proper surgery, rehab, and strength training, he should be back to his full compliment of attributes that saw him become one of the most dominant players in the world (and definitely one of the best DMs to ever play the game).

Don't know what people wanted us to do.

Name a player better than Kovacic and Gundogan who would have been happy to come and sit on the bench if Rodri get injured. And don't come back with the Brazilian Lee Cattermole who plays for the Geordies because he's completely utterly and totally shite.

You'll see the sense in the clubs decision making when we need to replace Kevin and Bernardo next summer and we have a massive war chest to go all out for Musiala and Wirtz.

I personally think we would be absolutely fucked if Haaland got injured.

Losing Rodri for the full season is an absolute hammer blow.

Gutted that this has been confirmed as he is a wonderful player who makes us ‘tick’ whenever he plays.

Hopefully the surgeon he has chosen knows his onions and his recovery goes as smoothly as possible.

Having read plenty about Rodri he probably already has plans to keep himself occupied and focused during this enforced lay-off, which will hopefully help him cope.

He will still be a big presence around the place as he makes his recovery.

Lots of doom and gloom articles being published about our record with / without him but important to point out that we won 3 without him so far this season and a win and a draw with him involved.

The rest of our squad is fantastic and they, along with Pep, will be determined to prove that we don’t fall apart regardless of injuries to key personnel.

All this doom and gloom. In Kova we already have one of the finest DM's in the premier league. Its shit that we have lost Rodri for a season (maybe) but this idea we cant win trophies without him is wrong. We have a brilliant squad and the best manager football has ever seen. We will do ok and if we don't win it won't be down to the loss of Rodri.
Absofuckinglutely.
