Rodrygo

You guys sound ridiculous in here. This is a player who just won...three Champions Leagues and 2 La Ligas? He's only 23. This posturing of "oh he's not at our level" is insane.

He walks into the lineup. Be real. He'd be a tremendous asset to our squad. His role was minimized and he doesn't have G/A lately because of Mbappe and Vini being selfish. There just isn't room for all 3.

When he did play, he did more tracking back and defending because those other two wouldn't. Word is he wants to be more a part of a collective.

That sounds like the player I want. Who is willing to sacrifice.

Top top player.

The good thing about Madrid, is that their surplus players who fill the bench can be sold for +40million ( Guler , Brahim ...etc ) and the one that usually plays will cost the double.

I would take him under one condition, loan with Madrid paying %50 of his wages.

I can see him at Liverpool on the left wing.

Can't see us going for him when we are clearly all in on Wirtz and MGW.

That would be horrendous if he went there but luckily enough I don’t see them paying the fee and wages after keeping Van Dick and Salad on huge wages

Comfortably better than Doku, Savinho and current Grealish. In fact, if the former two turn out half as good they’ll have decent careers.
Haha nor a fan of two of the three but still haha. He is a poor man’s Martinelli

Massive yes, plays a minimised role for that lot and would grow into a world beater for us. Only 23 and would probably get him for a decent price too.

No thanks, hide and seek champion when it matters.

That’s not true at all. He shows up when it matters. Knocked us out, and scored vital goals in La liga title races to get the three points. He’s scores when it matters. We’ve been terrible against the top 6 this season to have a player that can do it in the vital games would be a huge improvement.

“In the current Premier League season, Manchester City has played 10 matches against the "big six" clubs (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Aston Villa). They have won 4, drawn 2, and lost 4 of those matches, with a record of 7 points picked up from a possible 24”

“Yes, Rodrygo is widely considered a big-game player, particularly within the context of Real Madrid and the Champions League. He consistently performs well in crucial matches, starting in important games and delivering crucial goals and assists”

  • Consistent Performances:
He frequently steps up in high-pressure situations, as evidenced by his goals in Champions League knockout stages and other major matches.

  • Versatility and Selflessness:
Rodrygo is known for his ability to play multiple positions and his willingness to sacrifice his position for the team's tactical needs, which is valuable in big games

  • Critical Goals and Assists:
He's contributed significantly to Real Madrid's success with important goals and assists in crucial games.

We're no longer part of the 'big 6'?

He’s the kind of player that’s always in the right place whenever I’ve watched him, and we’ve missed that since Sterling.

I reckon he’d get 15 a season here but perhaps not contribute too much creatively.

Not sure he really fits the way we seem to want to play going forwards with inside forwards and wingbacks, plus his favourite position is on the left, where we’ve just signed Marmoush and already have Doku. It’s also Savinho’s favoured position.

So something would have to budge. Great player though without the galactico narcissism his team mates share.

Agree 100%.

There was a time when Robben was dropped by Madrid because he didn’t fit in with their new line up. He ended up going to Bayern and absolutely ripped it up.

Just because Rodrygo isnt a regular starter now doesn’t mean he should be overlooked. You have to look at his overall performances over a period of time and recognise he was a key component of a side which were the best in Europe.

If we’re talking stats then Robben only scored 11 in 50 la liga games for Madrid and he’d walk into any team we’ve ever had.
