Romeo Lavia

I don't at all see McAtee playing Gundogan's box-to-box midfield pairing role with Rodri he has done most of the season.

He will be more of a 10 (ala Kevin or Foden).

If anything, Lavia has a good chance in a midfield 2, wherein I would have some doubts playing him as a single pivot.

We will have such potential in the midfield and forward areas. Imagine the flexibility offered by KDB, Bernardo, Grealish, Foden, Alvarez, Palmer, McAtee, Gundogan and Mahrez, with Rodri/Philips/Lavia protecting; I don't think anyone needs to be a definite like for like.

Unfortunately ability isn't the only factor with Pep he wants experience. And how do you get it if you just keep the bench warm with your young prodigies.

Well he brought Foden through. I think the player needs to be exceptional. Perhaps a loan is the best move for him?

Belgium u21s vs Scotland u21s - Lavia [#23] subs on at 70m, 1:06:00 of this video. This video sux, watch at your own risk, but he plays fine, maybe even 'well,' the step up from u19s didn't faze him at all

Glad our academy players are wanted by PL clubs.

Since we have Rodri & possibly Kalvin, then Lavia can be sold & be the next Douglas Luiz.

Didn't know he was this good. Could actually be a decent cover for cup games

He is that good, the reason why some people would like to see him given the chance to actually do something before we splurge out 40-60m on another player.

Rodri has averaged 50 games a season for the last 3 seasons, barring injury does he really need an expensive rotational player option? He has played 35,34,33 in the PL.

Lavia could play those few games and not to be disrespectful we can surely find a team to rest Rodri against that isn't in the top 10 and not suffer.

I am an advocate for more game time from the bench as well, you know when we are leathering a team but Pep likes to bring on more full internationals for the last 10 mins, it is the one thing I wish he would alter tbh.

I would love to see some of our youth get more chances, the league cup should now be used as a breeding ground to see them step up, 5 or 6 guaranteed to start supplemented by players needing to keep match fit etc.

Ultimately we will lose some of these talents if we do not give them a chance, I know this doesn't bother some and others will think it is a great help to FFP as we make 10m from Bazunu etc and they are also right, it is just a long standing dream to see us field a team with a good proportion made up of our own YA products.

Hope so,although a few sales are happening.
Yeah, for some reason I thought he'd recently extended but he only joined 18 months back. He's contracted until 2024 so maybe an extension this summer and a loan? I'd love to see him start some 1st team games for us but it may depend on what Pep has in store for others and the formation we play next season.

With Rodri & Philips, the DM position is covered for the next 5 years.

I think selling him for cheap price with high sell on % could be the best deal we can make.

This guy will be sold, with a buy-back clause in his deal

We don't want him running his contract down as this guy will be needed once he's 22/23

Were a few reports a month or so back that he was considering his future, i suppose he knew about the the phillips signing. Both Rodri and phillips are far from old and it probably puts the pathway for a DM into our team at 5 years or so, assuming phillips doesn't bomb. So wouldn't blame him for moving on.

It does seem like the club has some hesitance in promoting him.
