it's not arrogant entitled bollocks, it's the reality of where the 3 clubs are at this point in time. If you disagree, I suggest you read the league table, and the club's net spends.

the team that played boro, your saying we couldn't have started just one young player or put some on the bench ? pretty reasonable to me

Caballero, Kolarov, Zabaleta, Boyata, Kompany, Fernando (Dzeko 80), Milner, Navas (Fernandinho 67), Silva, Jovetic (Lampard 67), Aguero

Unused subs:
Hart, Demichelis, Sagna, Clichy

I suggest you show a bit of humility and I'm sure you don't show this level of hubris In the real world

i meant this season, you were referring to 3 old years ago. we put two on the bench every game then if we are in a good position bring them on, for example when we are 4-0 like in loads of games last year. i know roberts wasn't here last year. i dont see how thats a bad idea. they get competitive football and get to train with the first team. if they do well on loan i.e. denayer - gets into the belguim national team then they should be in the first team squad not forever going out on loan, which is what I'm hoping doesn't happen.

Well, Iheanacho will be there and there abouts, I don't see there being much youth in our first team this season, but I think it will grow in future seasons. If it doesn't, I will

why, equally, are we using samples from one game? Surely if you want to use a youngster, they should be good enough to play in many more games, none of those on our books last season were ready for that responsibility.

It is total fantasy, because you've made up a point of view for me so you can attack it. It's not what I said, you've written what you wanted me to say, attacked it with a large amount of emotion and delusion, and gone off on a rant, because you've got yourself wound up and upset because Lopes has been sold.

If ever there has been a response so far removed from what the other poster said, then I'd love to read it.

Well I've trid to understand what it does actually mean & can't make head or tail of it, oter than what I've posted. Can we use kids or not ?

Don't think it's about giving them a chance I think it's about giving them an opportunity and seeing if they step up and take it. Denyar accepted a 5 year deal, next year MDM is gone and he's one of the 4 in the first team squad. Vinny will be 30 so by the time he's 23 Vinny will be on his way out, just like Dunney was when Vinny arrived at the same age. Otomendi will be 30/31, Mangala 27 and if youngsters like Facey, Bossaerts and Humphreys can't see this as a chance to progress then they are missing the point of the CFA.

Everyone of them should be looking over their shoulders because there is the chance that someone better is following on behind. Take your eye off the ball and we have an in house replacement lined up hungry to take your spot. A five year deal shows we believe in him now he just needs to show he has what it takes. Although not sure about a year in Turkey. Other than getting Champs League experience what's the point? Can't remember the last good central defender to come out of that league.

Agree with all, and would say that Turkey is a good move. Some top class, sneaky bastard, high octane football is played in Turkey, and he is with one of the big teams, so will play in some big games.

He is definitely a future City starter IF his development continues. We are all coming in our shorts over him excelling in the Scottish league with the ONLY club in that league, so let's see how he does in Turkey. I expect him, as you said, to be a foundation of the next decade of CBs at City.

humility? here are people making up quotes for me, calling the club liars over Denayer and proclaiming there's no point in watching our academy anymore. Meanwhile, I merely point out we're in a different situation to Liverpool and Spurs because we're a title challenger, and they aren't, and somehow I lack and humility and am arrogant, not those making up large chunks of things none of us our privy to, to suit their pre-determined view to attack our club.

I think you're a bit misguided with that to be honest.

you gave an example from about 3 years ago, i gave one from last year we haven't played any cup games this year, I'm talking about future reference and what we need to do :) . We still could have had at least one of those youth cup final players on the bench. the responsibly of possibly being on the bench against the mighty boro ? . i think if we play two youth players every cup game and have at least one or two on the bench that would be the perfect balance. A strong first 11 complimented with a few youngsters.

How do you know till you actually play them.

yes, that's not my call. All I'm saying is, that I think the club is in a transition, as seen by our summer activity, and I firmly think our focus this season is on winning as many trophies as possible. I wrote several posts earlier in the day reiterating this, so I'm not going to get annoyed by a lack of youth this season. Like I said, if in 5 years there's no-one like Garcia, Denayer, Humphries, Barker, Roberts, Faour or Brahim making it through, then I'd agree, but for now I think we're still in the transition, and I think comparing us to other clubs is over-simplistic and doesn't do justice to the complexities we currently face that others don't, at this stage.

If it was the choice between city and their amazing facilities or Arsenal/Liverpool and their not quite as good facilities but tendency to give youth a chance I wouldn't be picking city.

THIS!

We're making it like other big clubs train in caves.

Pozo will not make it at City. Have watched him and don't see it.

Anybody that watches the EDS will tell you that the selection of Pozo in that position was fucking ridiculous, on both form & the fact that he never had a prayer against two giant cbs. It just adds to the impression that Pellegrini has no plan at all regarding the young players.

Pozo was a star, then picked up a long term injury, then another & has never looked the same since. It might be a mental thing or he might be finished, but he has barely been worth a place in the EDS for the past two seasons, which makes Pellegrini's decision to pick him, all the more ridiculous.

We could, but we didn't, was it a missed step? maybe, but at the same time our most ready youngsters weren't here. I think the club wants to be trophy laden at the end of the season, but it's up to the youngsters to go in training "look, I'm playing so well, give me a shot". I think the club will do more in seasons to come, but I don't think it will be this season. It might disappoint some, but for me, it's not something worth the vitriol and reaction we've had tonight.

We are in transition, so it's a great time to also bring through a few kids. Could save us millions on replacing Nasri Navas, Clichy, Zaba etc.

maybe not, but having watched these kids play so well i can understand the fear about us becoming chelsea in terms of chances. we do have some of the best young players in the country imo and it would be a waste if at least one of them didn't get into the team ..
