Ross Barkley

People talk about Jovetic's flicks sometimes not paying off and losing us possession, but Barkley seems to lose the ball more than anyone in our team, which can be fatal for a team which likes to push high up and is susceptible to counter attacks. If he was a £20m investment, fine, but the numbers sound eye-watering and would eat heavily into our transfer budget, and I see players on the continent who are as good for a smaller price. He does have a very good attitude and probably the right mentality to improve, but that homegrown premium seems to go up and up.

He isn't ready to step up yet and needs at least two more seasons under Martinez to develop his game further.

Everton would demand at least 30m and he isn't getting into the team over Silva.

In two seasons the price will be mental. It's a risk but sometimes you have to take those risks. If Barkley comes good he will be worth an absolute fortune to City in terms of an English poster boy who will have the hopes of the nation on his back. He's a class player and I think he would step up if he came to City. The fee is huge, as it always would be with English players and yes there is quality abroad but we need English players, homegrown at least and I really think he is going to be one of the great players of his generation. It's only my opinion mind and I see the reasons why people are coy on this transfer.

If you were to ask me right now who could we do with more overall, Sterling would be my answer. Width, pace and the ability to score and beat a man consistently. But Barkley potentially could be a much better player than Sterling.

I just think Barkley's best position is at number ten so if he came he would struggle to make the first XI consistently because isn't getting into the team over Silva.

He needs to be playing every week and I don't think we can offer that unless we are willing to see him develop with us.

I agree with Sterling though, I think he is a great prospect but a player who needs pace around and in front of him to thrive.

The price will already be mental, Everton already seem to think he is world class when he is anything but at this moment.

Silva hardly ever plays a number 10 position for City. We play the vast majority of our games with two central forwards and with Silva out towards the wing. This same position is played by Nasri, Navas and Milner. Barkley will be better than all of those three. He can also play alongside a striker in that central position. There we have Dzeko and Jovetic. Again, he will be better than both of those.

We will see, but if we ever did sign him I would hope it's to to play that central number ten/ assisting striker role and not shifted out to the wing and be wasted.

He is shagging an ex of mine mate , he is not coming here anytime soon

30 Double FF`s as well lucky boy

hes struggled with injury and would have played for 2 years had it not been for a broken leg. He's gonna be class but he needs more time to develop
