Almost nobody in the game has Ya Ya's attributes, so it's a pointless comparison. Fact remains though, Ya Ya's into the twilight years of his career, and a combination of pace, power and skill is hard to find. Barkley has all 3, plus he's 20 and he's English. He's gonna be a star, trust me, and we need to get in there sharpish

I thought the transfer limit was for more than just this summer's window??

So did I mate but a couple of folk have suggested it's the summer window only, and this season only as long as we meet our 'obligations'. I'm not entirely sure tbh.......

I understood that if we break even in 2013-14 and according to Khaldoon we did then sanctions will be lifted, so next summer no restrictions. Or something like that. Someone correct me if im wrong.

They really weren't. For a long time rodwell was off to united due to Moyes and Ferguson's 'special' relationship, so he really wasn't rated. Barkley is on a completely different level talent wise to rodwell.

He reminds me of a typical England player. Physical developed but not great technically or tactically. He hasn't got the touch Yaya or other player has! If he starts against Italy and dominates their midfield then fair fucks you and the rest of Barkley's supporters can give me dogs abuse.

seriously ??? he's fantastic technically have you watched any everton games, thats one of his strongest points. why are you expecting the finished article he's only 20 in his first full season and he's absolutely dominated games, yaya wasn't a world beater at that age. we may swell just buy the finished article every time, if you can't see the potential and ability he has.

I am a firm believer in our own Academy and there is not much in Barkley's game that we cannot develop ourselves. It will take time but we will start to reap the benefits.

the last player we produced who is of barkleys level at the same age was strurridge we have no one anywhere near as good at the mo. barkley is the most technically gifted young footballer in england right now for me.

Rodwell was a crock at Everton and had a handfull of good games. Barkley was known as Boss Barkley the season before Moyes last. Every bluenose scouser I know rated him the moment he came through, few were bothered when Rodwell went.

Barkley is worth no more than 25m in todays silly market. Shaw is worth 15m at an absolute push. Smalling, the guys worth a bag of KP nuts.
