FFS, what is he, 20?! You aren't gonna get a finished article at that age, although he's still "developed" enough for England it seems! However, if you can't see how good he already is, never mind how good he's gonna be, then heaven help us. Ya Ya will be at the top of his game for another year at most (and even that's assuming he stops being a dick and stays), and if we don't pitch in for this lad right now, it will be too late, cos one of our competitors most assuredly will. The must have signing of the summer for me, raw or not

He reminds me of a typical England player. Physical developed but not great technically or tactically. He hasn't got the touch Yaya or other player has! If he starts against Italy and dominates their midfield then fair fucks you and the rest of Barkley's supporters can give me dogs abuse.

Almost nobody in the game has Ya Ya's attributes, so it's a pointless comparison. Fact remains though, Ya Ya's into the twilight years of his career, and a combination of pace, power and skill is hard to find. Barkley has all 3, plus he's 20 and he's English. He's gonna be a star, trust me, and we need to get in there sharpish

Thanks to FFP we can't afford him Exeter. Not until January anyway. Pointless thread really from a City perspective :(

What sets Yaya apart is his quality of passing. I am afraid Barkely isn't at that level and may not achieve that level. Like I said earlier no one has a crystal ball and no one can give an accurate prediction on how his career can develop.

seriously ??? he's fantastic technically have you watched any everton games, thats one of his strongest points. why are you expecting the finished article he's only 20 in his first full season and he's absolutely dominated games, yaya wasn't a world beater at that age. we may swell just buy the finished article every time, if you can't see the potential and ability he has.

tbf for a 20 year old just starting out I would say he was relatively technically gifted; as to comparing him to Yaya, you are comparing him with possibly the best all round midfielder in the world, and it is fair to say that Yaya was not as technically gifted 11 years ago than he is now

I understood that if we break even in 2013-14 and according to Khaldoon we did then sanctions will be lifted, so next summer no restrictions. Or something like that. Someone correct me if im wrong.

I am a firm believer in our own Academy and there is not much in Barkley's game that we cannot develop ourselves. It will take time but we will start to reap the benefits.
