Ross Barkley

I see you guys can get a little upset when presented with the situation where a player may not wish to sign for you. Even more so, when it is possible that money may not tempt that player to move. I suppose I understand. I'm simply telling you what I know and believe will happen (not what I think and hope will happen). A £50m bid was rejected, Martinez played it off as speculation, he did not deny it and people close to the club confirmed it. You'll need more than £50m to get Barkley and I guess that's out of your FFP threshold, huh? There's always time after a few years.

Anyway, gnight.
No it wasn't you lunatic.

Well...if everton have knocked back a £50mill bid then that's the exact figure Barkley stands you at, sit down and think it thru before you answer....

Milan did well knocking back our 109mill bid for Kaka and then selling him for 60...no wonder cooky called em cowboys.

His delusion is at such a level he truly believes a bid was made because Martinez didn't deny it. If a £50m bid was made he would no longer be a Everton player. End of story.

How much did Rooney go to you United for? Was it 28m? So they've had him 10 years. Not including his wages that initial purchase has cost United about 2.8m a season and is still decreasing.

Barclay has the potential that Rooney, Giggs, Schools and Gerrard showed at a similar age. He will quickly outgrow Everton unless they get some big investor.

Signing Barclay is a no brainer, especially if we are to lose Yaya. And that doesn't mean he needs to be a direct replacement for Yaya; Fernando and Fernandinho can equally share that responsibility until he's fully ready.

Rooney was an Evertonian through and through but made the switch to the best club in the league based in Manchester. No reason why Barclay can't do the same.

Why would money be the motivating factor when choosing between Everton and City?

We are the reigning Champion's of England, we're the most successful English club in the last 4 years and Everton haven't won a solitary pot since 1995.

If we show an interest and Barkley doesn't fight tooth and nail to sign for us and further his career, then he isn't fit to be a City player. Why would we need a boy without ambition?

If you think £50,000,000 is a fair price for one good season then you are demented, which seems to be a recurring theme with the Evertonian fans who post on Bluemoon.

Everton a club that has to take advances on its sky money to pay its wages would never turn down £50m.
