Gorton is rough but it isnt rough nr the nags, thats west gorton. Mount road area of gorton is rough and so is abbey hey in gorton.
f off, i went to school in abbey hey!

if your extending to greater manchester, try kirkholt and newbold in rochdale.

horrible places.

I think if your from that specific area then you dont consider it that rough.I grew up in sunny Gorton for 25 years and yes while it was a bit dodgy,I never had any major bother.I think a lot of it is what you hear ie Moss Side,Salford etc all have a reputation but their still are some good, hard working people in them areas. My mother in law still lives just off Mount road in Gorton and yes its rough as toast, but a lot of it is just the feral youth that also resides in a lot of other inner city areas. As the saying goes ...shit spreads.

My mate lives in the new flats odsall lane, he is pretty well known/respected round Manchester but even he said that some of the families on their are scary!

In the middle of reading a book about the gangs of Manchester in the late 1890's. Forget your teddy boys, mods and rockers and present day would be gangsters these lot were the business and were called scuttlers. They would kill you just for walking on there side of the road. Anyone who thinks knife crime and crime is out of control should read this book.
