If the release clause was 100m then it does excuse not going for him before Benfica bombed out of the CL

It doesn't excuse not getting him last summer when we desperately needed a CB and he was available for €66m and was just as highly regarded.

Also doesn't explain why they waited 2 vital weeks for the season to start before making a move, Benfica knew they were financially in trouble if they didn't win that game and would need to sell someone important months ago.
You appear to know so much about city at boardroom level it beggars belief. However can I ask does khaldoon take sugar in his tea

Also Benfica manager has quoted speaking about Dias leaving and any player joining Benfica will have to understand he has totally different ideas to Man City

presumably, they still play football, 11 players per side, kick ball here and there, play on grass etc. Cannot be anything on a revolutionary level to what he does at City

I know You Tube videos can be deceiving at times and show only the best parts of anyones play BUT for fucks sake some of these Blue Mooners who claim he`s shite are actually themselves talking shite.
You can see the potential this lad already has and he reminds me in a lot of ways of our Vinnie.
You`ll do for me,lad.
Me too. People said Txiki should have two or three viable targets for a role. When he does that he’s criticised for going for third/fourth choice.

Childish behaviour to think Otamendi or no Otamendi is the reason we do not have a CL and several other trophies. You can't be so naive to pretend everything can go perfectly. Took Liverpool 30 years and world record fee for a centre back, keeper, and several other signings to get it right and win a league title with Klopp. We managed 4 in the last decade, if anything, we were spoiled. There's obviously things we can do better and criticize, like I have heavily criticised Pep for Lyon and Spurs loss in CL, but I don't think transfer strategy is one that warrants it as much, if this was a left back debate I'd still be inclined to feel it's not been addressed that well, but there's so many factors.

City bought those defenders carrying big reputations at the time, it isn't their fault they turned out shite. Otamendi before City was in la liga's team of the season and immensely highly rated, same with Mangala. While the latter couldn't last at least Otamendi showed fight and had a great 17/18 season. Way too easy to sit and rant, I'm sure the club higher ups feel they can do better every season as well, along with our players and manager.

Was more reliable than other itks anyway.

He's candid, honest, and doesn't get an ego boost from it. Just posts in good faith and if you've followed him a while you have an idea of who his sources are anyway.

Disappointed he didn't do a Bob Dylan Hurricane YouTube video....

He has been transparent about reasons to why Dias is leaving and Otamendi is coming in, and he even name dropped Pep saying he isn't stupid for trusting Otamendi, they like the player and have an idea. Partial quotes would make it seem like they don't want him lol
