Rugby Fans are brought up better

To answer this question I think we need to go right back to the beginning before the formation of league football, the working class men were meeting up for drunken fist fights called "scuttling" 500 men" 250-a-side brawls. This is one of the reasons Anna Connell formed our club.

Is he right?
he has never been to featherstone then as he.

generally speaking most rugby league fans have played the game at some level themeselves so know how hard it is. they watch the sport as much as support their team. as for featherstone i have been many times without seeing any trouble. the fighting usually at cup matches in rugby league is usually caused by football fans turning up once a year. castleford and featherstone have had problems in big matches but people reckon these are often fans of leeds united who may live in their towns but do not really follow the rugby teams.

I go watching Warriors every week so i dunno if i should be in a kind of "supporters limbo" after them comments.

Growing up going to football games i still find it a little weird fans mixing in with each other, even when an away end isn't sold out but there's never animosity... only time i've ever seen any is at cup games. It's a culture thing, throughout all levels of the game.

there is your answer.

What utter bollocks. Sorry I've just remembered all those public school boys who played for Wigan,Saints,OLdham durring the 70's up to today. Oh yes those nice boys Price,Windsor and Faulkner ( pontypool front row) all went to Harrow ffs.

John Graves is a Bolton fan so I guess that sums him up ;-)

I don't think they are brought up better at all. I think one factor is that in rugby and other sports you don't tend to get fans segregated.

What a ridiculous thing to say. So, if you are well brought up you prefer rugby?

I have always thought the main difference between football and rugby fans is that rugby fans, on the whole, love the sport more than they love the club they support, while football fans, on the whole, love the club they support more than the game itself.

Football is far more tribal and covers the whole countyry. RL is primarily played between similar communities who are all based in one part of the country. In terms of its spread, it is no different to village cricket. There is less violence at village cricket than there is at RL matches (I have witnessed many incidents myself).

Maybe village cricket fans are brought up better?
