Rugby Union Six Nations 2023

England poor again I thought for way too much of that game.

Nowhere near the levels of Ireland, France and Scotland for that matter.

I'm surprised that almost all England ex-players are flocking around how England played against Italy. Barely a word about the constant kicking being poor choices. They'll do the same against Wales and win, and all will be rosy with the cheerleaders still.

John Barclay and Jonathan Davies struck me as being far more objective in that there needs to be a lot more variation.

Equally bemusing was ITV's raving about the try scored by Arundell, and that running sideways is generally viewed as a bad thing. I generally thought that 5 yards from the line was exactly the place to do it, as Mitchell (?) did perfectly.

That fixture might not take place Welsh team could be on strike, ffs not like they've done much to date ;-)

The reasoning seems solid though.

THe WRU haven't told the regions how much money they'll be given. In turn, the regions can't therefore offer contracts to their players.
The internationals will be okay, but their clubmates could be out of a job in 4 months - the internationals could take the stand in solidarity with them.

That was my Victore Melldrew take on it in all fairness would always back the lads against England.
I read two articles on the matter today and tend to side with the players, how the Welsh RU have let things get this bad I do not know, but hey ho no singing Tom Jones songs I think sums them up :-(

It's strange what's going on in Welsh rugby always competitive if they go on strike in a World Cup year it's the last thing Gatts needs. I hope there union sorts it out. I'm shocked that the Irish Rugby Union is run so well at the moment and most of the big teams here are getting good sponsorships which will help a lot. The Welsh could well do with looking at the Irish model and see what they can learn from it.

That stand at that end at the Aviva is pathetic isn’t it?

The transparent one?
I assume it's because of the shape of land available and not being able to extend further.
Planning permission/access to light. There's long standing residential housing directly behind that stand and to get permission to redevelop the stadium they had to ensure it had no impact on those residents. I don't mind it tbh, Croker has similar with Hill 16 so the two national stadia match up nicely.
