Rugby Union Six Nations 2023

It's strange what's going on in Welsh rugby always competitive if they go on strike in a World Cup year it's the last thing Gatts needs. I hope there union sorts it out. I'm shocked that the Irish Rugby Union is run so well at the moment and most of the big teams here are getting good sponsorships which will help a lot. The Welsh could well do with looking at the Irish model and see what they can learn from it.
To be honest Leighton I think they already have looked at model.
Huge myth in Wales that it’s the National Game. The Regional crowds are not good at all where as the Irish seem to be well followed.
International Weekends are culturally party time. The Demographics for a home game are quite different to a Regional match.
All the wrangling over funding is not good at all. Wales can’t get stronger but only weaker.

That's sad to hear as Welsh rugby years gone by were a joy to watch for neutral fans. I hope they sort there stuff out. I know 6 Nations are looking at trialing relegation and promotions which is a good idea making rugby stronger but I think it's a long way away but that's if it gets the green light from all nations.
It's like for Wales it's all about the football teams now. 20 years ago it was non stop rugby.

Planning permission/access to light. There's long standing residential housing directly behind that stand and to get permission to redevelop the stadium they had to ensure it had no impact on those residents. I don't mind it tbh, Croker has similar with Hill 16 so the two national stadia match up nicely.
Having actually thought about it for longer and looked at pictures, I actually think it would be a good idea for where to place away fans and have home fans imposing on them in the rest of the stadium.

I think they could have turned the pitch and used the Lansdowne Club pitch behind the east stand but it wasn’t for sale, as far as I recall.
I could be getting that wrong.
But they would have have much more room.
The stand at the north end looks ridiculous but it was as a result of light access and planning permission.

Croke park has a bit of a preserve order about it, and I don’t think the GAA would want to do too much with it.
There is much more room for manoeuvre there though.
I’m sure the railway line could be built over, but there is still a light issue for back gardens on the other side of it.

This current England crop will somehow manage to capitulate against a terrible Wales side.
