Rugby Union Six Nations 2023

True but that doesn't mean that the attack should be as one-dimensional as it has been. It's good to see just having a single 10 - the 10/12 only worked with Ford. Lawrence is excellent and Slade is a good playmaker.

We really don't see much of Slade as the ball often arrives slowly to him.
It's very odd that they don't give the wings a run more though.

Ford's got a better kicking game, so you're right - Smith isn't going to kick much at 12, and Farrell's kicking isn't as subtle as Ford's.

I'm quite surprised that Smith hasn't been given this match to start though. He seems a bit more space than he often gets at 10 though, or faster ball to attack a broken line.

I'd prefer it if he stays limited!

I have thought for years that what England need is an intelligent player at 12 or 13 to vary play, and ideally one who can pass the ball. Everything grinds to halt or the number 8 is in the way and just takes it back to ground. Gym hulks beat many teams but can be undone on any one day.

The lumps he's got at the moment seem to be easier to run around than others, the Italians found all manner of holes to run through.

England by 25
Ireland by 25
France-Scotland absolutely no idea. Depends how angry Shaun Edwards got.
England, Ireland and Scotland all to get a bonus point is the bet, waiting to get a price on it off PP though.

An intelligent Englishman at 12 or 13 made me laugh, the last one only looked good on the back of playing outside Scott Gibbs for the Lions, the other is a 10 in Farrell.
I'll take the draw :-)
Regarding Mr Edwards was I right in thinking that i Heard the comms say that was only the 2nd time his team had conceded a defensive extra point ?
