Rugby Union Six Nations 2023

Not your best ???
Formidable team buddy. Expect you to go far in the RWC2023
I’m not strictly a rugby man, but I love the internationals. I love the respect and commitment and honesty in the game.
I love the openness regarding how it is transparently reffed. The refs mic’-ed up. TMO showing how VAR should work.

Ireland have flattered to deceive at previous world cups. We somehow peaked too soon when the real big boys were building towards that tournament alone.

This team feels different though.
Like I said, I’m not strictly a Rugby man but I would absolutely love to see this team go all the way in the WC.
Let’s start with a Paddy’s weekend grand slam against England. Don’t know who will be fit to play, but it promises to be some game.

Seemingly Ireland used 3 hookers which sounds like a normal evening in Temple Bar.
Finished with no hookers and three front rows, worked against Scotland in the scrum but can't see us getting the same joy against England's pack next week with that setup.

We weren't, thought we were very disrupted by the early injuries and the defence were shaky all game. Plus some sloppy errors at set pieces as a result. Got the win though and that's what matters.

Need to sort out our Argentina problem if we want to do anything in the WC :) Not looking past the groups for that one, World Champions, World no. 1 and the best by a mile of pot 3 all in together, only 2 can go through unfortunately.

It’s a complete farce how the RWC organisers seed the teams so far in advance of the tournament(2020)
We always seem to get a group of death and one lop sided group.
Group A has France and New Zealand currently ranked 2&3
Group B has Ireland , SA and Scotland at 1,4 and 5 ouch
Group C has Australia and Wales 7 and 10.
Group 4 is England and Argentina 6 and 8.

Could be closer to the tournament alright. Scotland, Ireland, Wales, England, Argentina, Japan and Australia all not the teams they were and in false positions if not false pots.

My verdict, for what its worth:
France brilliant.
Ireland excellent, but not as fluid as France.
Scotland good, but couldn’t stay with Ireland when they turned it on.
Wales so so.
Italy in need of further development.
England abysmal.
England junked coach Farrell, hmmmm.

The Scots played well first half. Ireland just had too much. Why was the Ireland try at the start of the game not awarded. I just didn't get the reasoning for it not to be awarded.

Again the injuries hit we have some great back up players but even going into the England game some of those injuries looks bad will they be fit for England on Saturday.

Knowing we are 1 win away from a grand slam with a under preforming England to come to Dublin. It's in our hands but I remember some bad Irish teams putting in a performance that takes a Slam away from England I just hope this is not to be the case. Saturday should be good.

Fast line out has to be played with the same ball that was put out of play, bit unfair we got penalised for it but thems the rules. They should probably review it though, at the very least it should have been an Irish line ball or penalty since the Scots were responsible for the infringement.

That'll be some weekend if they can do it
