Rugby World Cup 2023

We were shit yesterday, Argentina fully deserved their win. Im not going to make a thing of the Tompkins incident, there have been numerous bad calls by refs in this tournament.
Good luck to the Argies in the semi final, i think itll be a step too far for them but they have beaten NZ twice in recent years

Congrats to Argentina and the All Blacks. Both teams played well.

Wales and Ireland were within inches of progressing. I’m gutted Ireland are out.

For me the confusing part of the non Yellow card head contact in the Wales game is we now haven’t got a clue about the purpose of the law. Though it was an accidental collision, if the purpose of the law is to significantly reduce the risk of head / brain injuries then it has to be a yellow card IMHO.

The ex Welsh internationals who wanted England (Farrell etc) to be refereed to a more punishing standard may feel their media campaign backfired a little bit. The rules should apply the same across all teams and then Wales would probably be in the semi finals.

In fairness, Farrell has a long history of illegal high/no arms tackles, he does it on purpose

NZ exposed a fundamental flaw - Sexton was too old to try to build a World-Cup-winning team around.
In those last 38 phases he deflated like a punctured Sexdoll.
Everyone was clearly knackered, but he was next level... he barely looked like he could lift his studs off the floor, or his arms from his sides. He was trudging.
At the most intense moment, he wasn't up to the task.
Maybe 26 year old Sexton would have managed to maintain the performance necessary to put that game away. (Having said that, 26 year old Sexton was being kept on the bench at the 2011 RWC by Ronan O'Gara).
Those signs weren’t obvious before this game as Sexton was getting subbed off for Crowley later in the game (even against SA I believe). This may be one of Farrell’s biggest regrets when he looks back.

Big shoutout to Savea who completely and utterly destroyed Doris in every aspect, he had a great game.
