I don't blame him for doing it, to be honest. They've done brilliantly to get to the semi final, something the French or Irish couldn't do. But it doesn't make them a better team than either France or Ireland.

You are talking as if this is the first time Argentina has made the semis of a WC. In 1999, 2007 and 2015 Ireland was supossed to beat Argentina too. Didn't happen.

That first game vs England was the worst match I ever witnessed from an Argie side in any sport ever. The Pumas got to that game thinking they were the favourites and the pressure got to them, specially after England got down to 14 men. Now that they got it out of their system, I don't see them playing such an embarrassing brand of rugby again. That's clearly not even close to their real level. Argentina and England are probably going to face in the 3rd position match, I don't expect another no show from the Pumas.

Ignore them, they don't have a clue. Argentina tend to over-perform in WCs, and made good progress in the last 30+ years. Compare to Italy who have gone backwards.

Just for the record, I'm not saying this current Pumas team is better than this current Ireland team. Just in general and going forward.

In terms of all-time rankings, I don't think anyone can rank a team that never got past the QF of a WC over a team that has already made the semifinals 3 times.

And looking into the future, like I said, playing against the giants of the SH has been a huge boost for Argentinian Rugby. The sport has never been more popular here and with the bigger talent pool and the elite competition, Argentinian rugby should keep getting better and better.

I haven't even seen England play well yet, so far they are the Germany in football terms of FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan 2002.
