Rugby World Cup 2023

Both teams play with an attractive style. Unlike the anti rugby of the current Welsh Team and the lacklustre England.

It’s a good day of sport. Hopefully, we see an improved England performance and the rags get beat again.
Nah, Webb will pull out all the stops today, expect Brentford to be down to 10 before the kickoff is even taken and every touch of the ball to result in a rag set piece and Brentford card.

Agree, from an outsider listening to the locals support their team through not much more than blind loyalty to their locality is a throwback to how football was In England years ago when I first starting going and fans supporting their local team.
As it should be.

There may be local rivalry and things have been known to get hot at some local games, but by and large thing about the county rivalry is that when it comes to that level, fans are mixed without segregation.

You look at an all ireland or provincial finals and you see a mix of jerseys together without any trouble.
It’s seen as a sport after all.

Even on Hill 16 which is traditionally the Dublin fans enclave, I’ve seen Kerry jerseys in there or other counties for that matter and it’s taken in good spirit.

There's thousands of them around the country. There's also more GAA clubs than soccer clubs in every single large town and city in the country. There's more kids and adults playing competitive games every weekend and more spectators at those games. Televised Irish games get more viewers.

This country might have a love affair with the EPL, but the GAA is miles ahead of soccer here both as a participation sport and a spectator sport.

I used to watch the Irish twatting themselves over the head on hough end fields in the 70's, brutal stuff :)

At half time of Wales v Australia, the ex-captain of Wales was in the studio saying, ‘Wales just need to keep on doing what they’re doing. Don’t play too much rugby, don’t play any rugby in their own half, kick the ball up field…’.

I immediately thought of these fellas:

It was the correct tactic though. Aussies had no idea what to do with the ball in their own half, so just give it to them.
We did similar to England in the 6N this year, just slowed the game down and put the impetus on England to change it.
Dislike Gatland as a person, but he's a great coach and he knows what he can get from the players at his disposal, that's why Wales have been consistently successful with him at national level despite their domestic game going to hell in a handcart.

Wales RU have got a brilliant PR machine where their pay is normally described by ex players as champagne rugby. Good to see some honesty.

Rubbish, especially as regards participation levels, show some facts for this nonsense.

Those guys sum it up well lol.

Saint Helens thought those sort of tactics would be enough last night night but thankful they were wrong.
