Rumour : delayed north stand extension

One things for sure. The Club won't listen to half of the Blues on here who are gloating about trading their season cards for cheaper seats next season.

No problems with people who can't afford the current prices moving seats but there are a lot of parasites who are just relying on Sheikh Mansour's generosity.

Nothing like have respect for your fellow blues....parasites?

I'm only talking about the people crying for the North Stand to be extended but are moving to cheaper seats for non economic reasons.

That will be a small percentage of our fan base and I doubt I saw many of them at Spurs cheering on the lads.

Good luck to Blues who have moved to cheaper seats for economic reasons and / or those who have kept their own counsel.

cost of a ticket is why a lot of manchester people don't come anymore they just can't afford the price and many on a low working income just cant justified £50 when you have kids they must come first

I would like to see a price of a season ticket at £500 and let the fans on low working income pay each week over the year and with a match day deposit set it could work out at £15 a week

but we know football is not bothered about fans really its more all about corporate and a meal drink and ticket money that Manchester fans on low income just don't have

Rag.

that's is so true how did you guess ??????????????????????????????

There's only 1 United & that's the chocolate biscuit

I can feel a song coming on.......

What's the problem with people moving to cheaper seats? Surely if they are on sale to everyone for that price, anyone is entitled to purchase them. I'd say the existing fans have more of a right to get first dibs on the cheaper seats than a load of fans who aren't already season ticket holders.

I've not moved to the cheap seats but no problem at all with anyone that has, that's whether they're a millionaire or on the dole.

I've got no problem with people moving to cheaper seats. It is the smart move for a lot of people.

What I find hypocritical (from a small minority) is people moving to cheaper seats (where the reason isn't affordability) who then complain that the North Stand won't be expanded fast enough.

The Sheikh has a right to know whether the 55k capacity Etihad is sold out before deciding whether to extend the North Stand.

I don't know where this 'delay' notion has come from.
As far as I can recall, City never stated it was going to happen, merely that there was the option to do the North Stand too.
'Delay' makes it sound like a firm plan has been put back, rather than the reality that City haven't yet decided on a firm timeframe for the North Stand.

In practical terms, it makes no difference either way, but in PR terms, 'delay' sounds awful.

It came from the media.

Not wumming, tis true!

Though to the be fair to the media, City never really made it clear in my opinion.

Not paid that much attention to it, but doesn't that set up in City Square show an artists impression of both stands completed?

It does, and this contributed to the media stating the North stand construction would follow once the South stand construction was complete. No date was published by City though, so technically they haven't committed to anything in regards to the North stand other than obtaining planning permission.
