You have years on me mate, I had never run distance at all up until my 40th birthday party when I told everyone i would be running marathons in my 40s, I was 15 stone and smoked 30 a day, everyone wet emselves.
Started doing parkruns once a week then a few 10ks everynow and again. Lockdown this year changed it all for me, inspired by folk that run everyday, i started doing at least 3 miles a day, which i still do, Im down to 12 stone and no longer smoke, did a 28 mile run after 30 days of running everyday, now have 5 marathons in the bag and love it. Im 44 and am fitter than Ive ever been. You just have to want it mate, better to be someone who does it, rather than someone who talks about doing it.
Go for it pal, you wont regret
