Running thread

I wish I could be mistaken for one. Lock down is destroying 14 months of solid and clean gains.

I'm going to come out of this looking like a bean pole. :-(
Not something I’ll ever be capable of looking like at 5’6”!!

Just done my stair session again, 2 mile warm up to begin followed by 90 stairs run up 5 times single stair, 5 times double stair then 3 times 3 step tuck jumps!! Nearly sick on the 3 set!!!

1 mile cool down and fucked now!!

Sounds horrible mate, well done.

I was running at the gym before all this. Was aiming for 10k as training for Manchester 10k. Since lockdown I’ve walked no less than 5 miles a day. Did 14 miles to town and back Monday and 8 today. Enjoy it much more than running at my age.

Going to Cheetham tomorrow, another 14 miles. All part of training for a 20 mile a day, 60 day walk in 2021 or 2022 hopefully.

Feeling fitter and dropped a stone and a bit in three months.

Hope old are you? I read in a magazine that as you get older, the sprint capability of leg muscles reduces, and the endurance components of your leg muscles increases, making it easier to endure, but at a slower pace as you age.

At 58, I am running 10k and more fairly comfortably, at a 'conversational pace'. The thought of that stair thingy, that @inchy14 does, fills me with dread, however.

So 5k wise my PB has been 33.58 on a park run course in Ashton.

well I tried a different route last night towards the village hotel in Ashton. and was 45 secs off my PB.

just wish I could stop having to stop start towards the end towards really achy legs

legs this morning gosh they hurt.
