Running thread

Got a question, and this will probably sound ridiculously stupid to most but I'm suddenly realising that I'm now nowhere up to date with technology and gadgets like I once was haha...

For someone who loves music whilst running, but hates carrying a phone, do air pods or galaxy buds or such like allow me to listen to Spotify playlists and stuff without my phone being present, or do I also need a smart watch or something else to be able to do this? And, in the event of an emergency (or more likely, me going over on one of my chocolate ankles again), can I make or receive calls with said air pods/galaxy buds or smart watch etc, again without actually having my phone with me?

Sort of running related so hope this is considered the right thread, I'm lost with all this stuff haha, I just know I don't like carrying a phone about when I'm running even if its strapped to my arm or whatever, its not ideal. Cheers.

buy a free train running vest pop your phone in.

What song

You know what, I can't remember now. Was in such a zone. Something with a good beat that kept the legs turning and the lyrics didn't include the words "stop", "quit", "pain", or "hurt".

With your top 100 knowledge is that enough for you to work it out?!

I'll check over it and let you know if not. Everyone else listens to the Spice Girls when running right?

What song

Just checked back and it was "I remember" Deadmau5 and Kaskade. Clearly I wasn't listening or I would have remembered...

And the lyrics do mention not giving up... inspirational! Was more the beat that got me through it I think.

Couple of easy runs this week for me before this 10km on Sunday.

I know the one, great tune. deffo a good one for running.

I prefer the sound of my feet on the pavement plus hearing my breathing, especially on a race. No music next Sunday.

I like to mix it up
i definitely think without Music my speed and time is better

but for the odd long run, i do enjoy my playlists a lot.

I've tried a couple of runs without music but really find it hard to block out the inner "STOPPPPP" that comes into my head. I need to do it more, because I think mentally it's got to be good to fight the inner demons that way.

I can just sort of lose myself with music and the kms tick by a lot quicker that way.

Joined this and will try and complete the 10k on Sunday. No way I'll win it with some of the times that you guys post - some animals on this forum!
