Running thread

Are you sure about this mate? In the threshold zone, you would typically be able to run for up to an hour, after which point you would have to stop due to exhaustion. Threshold runs are hard and it's not normal to be able to do them multiple times in a week. It's often described as 'controlled discomfort' so the fact that you said that you're at your 'most comfortable' in that zone does make me wonder. Is there any possibility that you've miscalculated your HR zones?
I'm not sure really. My runs are very comfortable. Much easier than when I got a Parkrun PB of 24:30 a couple of years ago.

The attached is my watch for my latest run. Garmin software calculated the zones, based on my age I suppose. I'm not too hung up about it, because my runs are enjoyable, and that's the main thing. I start with most of the first kilometre uphill, which is exhausting, and when I venture into the top zone.

Anyone tried running with ankle weights, am "weighing" up giving it a go
No, I think it's a bad idea and likely to cause injury. Include a weight training routine at least a couple of times week with press ups and sit ups to build strength. I do but don't enjoy it. I also use a pull up bar in the back garden at the end of each run.

Cross training on the bike or swimming will also help with strength.

Or hill sprints as mentioned by rammy blue. I've tried them in the past, and fartlek and they are beneficial when trying to improve race times. Too painful for me these days though. :)

Frustrating seeing runners on my short walks....like a dog looking out the window at other dogs playing. :(

Not pushing it though...from experience, fitness soon returns.
