Running thread

19.50 for a 5k this morning, happy with that, especially as I got up late with a cba attitude. Feel like I can go better just have to find a way of stopping the lungs exploding
Blimey that is quick for a training run. How does it compare to your times in races? I only did a couple of 5k races many years ago and record 19 minutes odd both times. I am happy with anything under 25 minutes these days.

That is the goal for me mate to do a sub 20 parkrun. Was pretty close just before everything locked down. Need to lose a few pounds I think to get there.

My 5k pb is 19.32 thought I had it today but slowed down at 3 miles instead of 3.1, lots of redlights and people to get round today so hoping when it comes to a race I will be much quicker.
Not really done much racing, was doing parkruns before covid but I was 15 stone and smoking 30 a day, started getting into it more in lockdown and really enjoy it now.
Did a 1.32 half mara in a race at capesthorne hall last summer when they were trying to get them on, and the races make you want to go faster so hopefully now Im a bit fitter can go even quicker

Think my parkrun pb was around 24 mins this time last year, just gotta keep pushing on mate

Cheers pal, was down to around 20:30 but now, without competition, have hardly run flat out since.

What sort of training have you been undertaking?
