I was going to press like but it sounds like too much pain for me. Be good to see if this training improves your "race" times, if that's plan.Ugh, that was hardcore. Fucking bastard freezing, must be a windchill of -10, blowing a gale, only blessing was wind was helping push up the hill.
First time in many years I nearly vomited from the lactic build up, lol, can only be a good thing!
Ha. No mate, it’s just for variety, I’ve always fancied doing them and intended trying at some point and just fell into it the other week when we went to Heaton and it was too snowy/icy to do a normal 5k so had a go at them. Me and the kids all enjoyed it so now Saturday is hill sprints day. Heaton is perfect for them too as got a few nice wide hills so plenty of space and different distances and inclines.I was going to press like but it sounds like too much pain for me. Ok. When the time is right have a go at a fast 5k anyway. You've probably already benefited from the hill sprint training.Ha. I am interested to see if it helps build a bit of strength back into my legs though, I’ve lost a lot of leg muscle mass over the last 12 months as I used to do 4/5 spin classes a week which has gone to pot. Can’t wait to get back to doing them too.
What the steps part mate? I’ve never done them as a session but I know how horrible and hard running up a flight of steps is.Hill / steps session this morning.
Fucking gruelling but I'm now pretending to be Rocky Balboa for the rest of the day :)
I remember reading that on here I think.Ok. When the time is right have a go at a fast 5k anyway. You've probably already benefited from the hill sprint training.
About 10 months ago I was having a 5k challenge with my 21 year old son. He eventually beat my current time so I tried a bit of interval training and then had a go at a fast 5k to beat his time again!
Just been walking around there and you’re right, absolutely freezing and I was wrapped up like I was doing Snowdon or Nevis!! That wind was bitter.Ugh, that was hardcore. Fucking bastard freezing, must be a windchill of -10, blowing a gale, only blessing was wind was helping push up the hill.

19.50 for a 5k this morning, happy with that, especially as I got up late with a cba attitude. Feel like I can go better just have to find a way of stopping the lungs exploding
Did a 5km time trial today and got a pb just squeezed in under 21 I think the 6 runs a week and 1 speed session a week over lockdown are bearing fruit.
fucking hell! I walk jogged it in 42 and was dead proud. You skinny fucks!! I couldn’t do 19.50 on a motorbike.
Blimey that is quick for a training run. How does it compare to your times in races? I only did a couple of 5k races many years ago and record 19 minutes odd both times. I am happy with anything under 25 minutes these days.19.50 for a 5k this morning, happy with that, especially as I got up late with a cba attitude. My 5k pb is 19.32 thought I had it today but slowed down at 3 miles instead of 3.1, lots of redlights and people to get round today so hoping when it comes to a race I will be much quicker.Blimey that is quick for a training run. Think my parkrun pb was around 24 mins this time last year, just gotta keep pushing on mateThat is the goal for me mate to do a sub 20 parkrun. Was pretty close just before everything locked down. Need to lose a few pounds I think to get there.
