Running thread

I used to do yoga twice a week in a live class till lockdown but have not continued with online YouTube vids etc. I think it’s pretty important to know your form and just trying to follow a vid seems a possible route to injury! Go live if you can. I may look into starting up again now my old instructor is back doing live classes. It’s great for core strength and flexibility.
Core strength is essential for running! Planks of various forms, Russian twists, calf raises, IT band stretches etc
 
55 min 10k this morning. Always makes me knackered though where I want to sleep shortly after or grab an hour during the afternoon. I am 40 though.

Be careful if you’ve not transitioned into a zero drop shoe. I normally run in Hoka, 4mm heel to toe drop and I struggled with my calf’s after a a couple of runs in Altras.
Yeah I'll take it steady. I've been in very soft flexible shoes for a while now and have had a go on zeros before.
 
Nice weekend of running. 24k on Saturday and a nice slow 10k today, over stunning scenery. Chucked in a country pub stop for an orange juice and a bit of a meander around an iron age fort and through streets of thatched cottages.
 
I dusted down the old bike over the weekend, and mixed it up a bit. 15km run on Friday, 5km cycle followed by 7km run on Saturday. 17km cycle yesterday, with a drinks break, and a brief stop to rescue an upside down mole. I've not seen one before. They are tiny - it's a shame I didn't have my phone / camera with me.
 
22km today, starting at 8am. I had a big bowl of pasta for tea yesterday. I wonder if this contributed to me feeling great during the run.

Or it may have been the frequent stops to take pictures of the scarecrows that have been displayed for the Lymm Scarecrow Trail. (There are 42 in all, with a nice little detour up to MacDonalds at Lymm Services).
