Running thread

Well done mate. I've skipped today as we've got all sorts of family stuff to arrange.

I actually thought I'd had a rubbish run this morning as there was a massive headwind for half of each lap as the rugby pitches are on the edge of the marshes and very exposed. Come to think it though, it also meant there was also a massive tailwind half the time!

hello manchester, merry christmas,

great event... gonna be there the first time for triathlon.

This morning's Peel Parkrun completed in 29:00. On the "B" course this morning avoiding the muddy football pitch.
Hopefully I've worked up an appetite now!

At least the "B" course is mud free, but the 2 trips up the slope from the river and the right corners zig-zagging across the park are hard work!
I enjoyed the B course, and the two uphills are only short, so not too bad there. Left turns put a strain on my left hip, and I have to take those easy. Both courses are a nice run though, with 2km alongside the beautiful River Irwell, the rest through trees and nice parkland.

Edit. And it's easy to get to at 8:30am.

I am scheduled to do a full marathon in March. I have an injury to the side of my foot. I’m thinking it could be Peronial Tendinopathy. I can still run but there is a dull ache on the side of my foot. Does anyone have any advice/experience on whether I would be ok running the race or would you recommend I postpone it? I will try and get it looked at in January but assume the medical advice from a specialist would be not to run with it.

Ran an easy paced half-marathon today to complete 2,000km in 2024!

Can’t wait to try and beat that in 2025.
I’m running a half marathon tomorrow to complete 1000 miles for this year, considering I had some medical issues during the year I’m ecstatic about achieving it as it was my goal all along.

Going for 2000 next year as decided to scrap the car and run the 3.5 miles to work and back each day next year.

Happy new year to all and good luck with whatever running challenges you set yourselves next year.

HNY mate, good luck with the half tomorrow no doubt you'll crack it..
Once you get going with the run to work and back you won't regret it, I sold my van about a month ago as I rarely use it and either run or bike to work, driving in Manc nowadays is a joke anyways, costs a stack to keep a car on the road, the roads are full of dickheads and holes,,and it takes half an hour to go about 3 miles anywhere with daft traffic.
