Running thread

Made Park Run this morning (many were indeed cancelled around South Manchester).
Amazing vibe this morning. That blanket of Snow (still falling) brings out the inner child in people (I did some purposeful skidding and sliding).

Have a Q over a possible injury. I've a tight (and slightly painful when I squat) hamstring just behind and above my right knee.
Anyone know what this is? I've had this a few weeks now and feel it in Yoga too (also slight achilles pain which I've mentioned before).

Kind of a bump:
Had that tight hamstring (lower thigh, behind the knee) for a few weeks but not a much of a bother (noticeable when stretching in Yoga) but last night it stung hard during a running session.

Poss hamstring tendonisis. Walked back and this morning I"m in the limping zone.

Anyone had this? I guess I can only ease off it and take ibuprofen etc.

Was planning on some long runs over Xmas too :(

I had that last year. Around early Aug and I took time off for about two weeks then eased back in at a gentle pace. Speed work seemed to set it off so I avoided that for quite a while afterwards. Still managed a HM in mid-Sept with no real problems.

Yeah, I may have to drop off for a bit (annoyingly....was just getting my running mojo back and love running in the winter).
As the moment I'm in limping mode :(

Thanks mate.

Was limping and could barely walk yesterday.
Bit of a limp this morning (I went to the office in Manchester) but it seems to have settled a bit.
Will lay off running until at least Saturday (if it feels ok) for the morning Park Run.

Will also try Yoga tomorrow night (and part of me thinks over stretching in that could have contributed.
Does anyone think those vibrating guns would be of any help for stuff like this?
Have a mate who swears by them (I've a feeling he uses them for more nefarious moments...) but think yoga/pilates would carry out similar tricks?

Is anyone out running on the roads in this icy weather? I'm 14 days without a run now as I'm resting a strain at the back of my knee. I'm missing running, but not sure I'd be out in this anyway.

No. The streets are covered in ice and would be lethal in the dark. I think i said a few days ago "bring on the cold weather"!! Be careful what you wish for eh?

Suddenly 5 days have passed without running !

But I have a day off on Friday so could venture onto a trail in the daytime for a jog / walk. Hopefully it will be more like snow than ice underfoot on the route I have in mind.

I’ve been out and may go tomorrow, working from home this week due to partner having an op so may be able to squeeze a 10k at lunch time.
