Running thread

Just been doing Park Runs on Saturdays air the moment due to my hamstring injury.
Didn't do last weekend (as most called off due to ice) so hadn't ran for two weeks and leg doesn't feel too bad.
Still a little sore but run was ok.

But on the warm down run home it got really painful again and I had to abort.
This hamstring tendonitis is taking a looooong time to heal :(

Back to rowing again I think but I'm starting to miss my longer runs.

Hi folks. Only run to keep body and mind healthy but around September I injured my back. Stopped running for a month or so. Then my back went again late December. This week was my first doing any activity again and I'm just interested how much fitness people lose if they don't train for a month or so? I've seen things say 20 percent but I think mine is much higher than that.
On a good day and on form I can do like 7 minute miles over 10k for a reference point. Went for a 'slow' jog with my cousin on Monday and whilst I could have gone quicker at around 10 minute miles I certainly wouldn't class it as easy. Put on a bit of a poker face in front of him as I'm usually substantially fitter than him. Haha. Think I've still got a bit of flu and could feel my back during it which obviously doesn't help.
It's so frustrating. I quite like doing the Garmin half marathon plans and had got my estimated V02 upto 54 and into the 'superior' range for my age which I was quite happy with as I don't have a runners build at all and quite a stocky 13+ stone. It's like taking time making a porcelain vase and then just throwing it against a wall. Extremely deflating.

Did 10.6 miles yesterday in preparation for a half marathon in May,did far too much, very stiff and leggy today, wanted to get an idea of starting time to maybe improve over the next few month, left knee started to feel weak and weather turned very cold about half 1,so abandomed my plans as I was really struggling.Ran for first 6.5 miles along Rochdale canal, then a mixture of very slow running and walking for the rest.
